The substantial pitched roof significantly overhangs the entrance, protecting the roost from precipitation and outdoor elements, while ventilation slots on either edge of the roof ensure the interior temperature remains comfortably regulated. Angled corners on the domicile's bottom panel offer extra spaces for drainage, and the unit's rough hewn, pine construction adds a rustic hint while providing nestlings a secure grip when they attempt to exit the home.
