The Blackmagic Design Spares - ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K - Mezzanine PCB (often called the I/O Board) is the secondary circuit board that sits directly above the Main PCB in the 1RU chassis.

While the 2 M/E and 4 M/E models are larger, this 1 M/E "4K" variant is incredibly dense. The Mezzanine board is responsible for the physical interface of the 10x 6G-SDI inputs, the 1x HDMI input, and the various SDI Program and Aux outputs.

Core Responsibilities

  • High-Speed I/O: Manages the physical 6G-SDI connectors. It handles the signal equalization needed to maintain a clean 4K image over long cable runs.

  • HDMI Interface: Houses the HDMI input circuitry, including the HDCP handshake logic and EDID management.

  • Reference & Sync: Processes the "Ref In" (Genlock) signal, ensuring the switcher is frame-synchronized with your cameras.

  • Data Bridge: Down-converts or prepares the incoming high-bandwidth video data to be sent through high-density connectors to the Main PCB for processing (Keys, DVE, and transitions).

When to Replace the Mezzanine PCB

  • SDI "Blackout" Bank: All inputs (1–10) are dead or showing "No Signal," but the ATEM Software Control shows the unit is connected and healthy.

  • HDMI Port Failure: The HDMI input is physically loose or fails to recognize any signal, while the SDI ports work fine.

  • Physical BNC Damage: If a BNC connector has been sheared off or the internal center pin is broken, the entire Mezzanine board is typically replaced to maintain broadcast reliability.

  • 6G-SDI Jitter: The unit works perfectly in 1080p, but the image "tears" or loses sync as soon as you switch to a 4K Ultra HD video standard.

Technical Installation Note

Repair Level: 4 (Advanced).

  1. The Nut Removal: You must remove the silver hex nuts and washers from all 15+ BNC connectors on the rear. A $14\text{mm}$ deep-well socket is the best tool for this.

  2. Board-to-Board Connectors: The Mezzanine board is joined to the Main PCB via several multi-pin headers. Warning: You must lift the board perfectly vertically. Tilting it during removal can bend the pins on the Main PCB underneath, which is a catastrophic failure.

  3. Thermal Pads: High-bandwidth 6G-SDI chips generate significant heat. You must ensure the thermal pads on the underside of the Mezzanine board are present and making contact with the internal heatsinks/chassis.

  4. Chassis Flex: Because the BNC ports are soldered to the board but poked through the chassis, ensure you don't over-tighten the BNC nuts, which can put "bowing" stress on the PCB.

Diagnostic: Mezzanine vs. Main PCB

  • It's the Mezzanine Board if: You have a Multiview output and the software connects, but your inputs are missing.

  • It's the Main PCB if: The unit won't boot, won't connect to Ethernet, or if the Multiview itself is black or garbled.

Expert Advice: If you are losing signal on just one or two ports, check for "cold solder joints" on the BNC legs where they meet the PCB. Sometimes a simple reflow with a soldering iron can save you the cost of a full replacement Mezzanine board.

Are you seeing a failure on the HDMI input specifically, or are the SDI banks failing to register your cameras?

great ball!
Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 2
My pitbull LOVES these. She is a power chewer and tough on balls and toys and tends to go through them insanely quick. She is still on her first ball out of this pack and its been at least two months. It is a little small for her mouth but she doesn’t seem to mind, as it has quickly become one of her favorites. Not a loud ball and it doesn’t usually make that wet chewy noise when shes going to town on it which is huge for me😂😂 Safe for my pittie so i’d imagine a smaller dog would be just fine.

Border Collie Approved: Easy to Clean, Durable, and Great Bounce
Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 2
These are the best balls out there for dogs. These fit great in the chuck-it ball launcher, which we need to wear out my border collie. They fit her mouth properly and, most importantly, do not absorb all the spit or water after a good rain. They are quick to clean off and have good weight so you can let them fly! Furthermore, they bounce well, which is perfect for my dog that likes to catch them on a bounce. The ball is a strong rubber, so should not be easy to chew up. I've used these for years, and the only time I've had to replace them is when one gets lost in the hay field. I highly suggest these as replacements for the common tennis balls.

Treats and plenty of ball throwing with these doggie toy
Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 1
I have actually purchased these twice already. I love the one that glows in the dark but it still got lost in my yard lol. My dog is a big breed half pitt/Labrador so she did chew through one of them already. I play ball with her every single day but I DO have to take them away from her because she will destroy them. They are great to add in treats as well, that was one of the my favorite things about them as well. They do last just if you have an over zealous chewer do not let them keep them for long periods of time. They are a good value for the price. Buy them your dog will love it!

My Female GSD loves
Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 1, Size: Medium (2.5"), Style: Fetch Pack 1
Shasta is my smallest. Six in December (2025) along with her brother. She’s 100 lbs and outside, completely ball driven see last picture. Don’t let the size (2.5”) of these Chuck-It balls deter you. If your larger Breed dog has any orthopedic issues, has already torn their ACL etc, one has arthritis but wants to play. This size is perfect! Shazzy was born with several ortho issues. I don’t throw balls distance but right to her. This size and lighter weight assure even when Shazzy is spazzy w excitement, she’ll catch the ball mid air. The green balls are softer, and glow in the dark. In summer we can play well past dusk and I can see them! Her personality shows in the pictures. Playing ball is part of her. These balls are just perfect for her situation. Somehow they disappear, she loves making baskets, puts them in my tractor bucket, or my gardening bucket..then get put in burn pile, trash etc. I keep replacing them because she’d look day and night if we actually ran out!! 🙏✝️👍🏼👍🏼
