In This Hour offers the first English translations of selected German writings by Abraham Joshua Heschel from his tumultuous years in Nazi-ruled Germany and months in London exile, before he found refuge in the United States. Moreover, several of the works have never been published in any language. Composed during a time of intense crisis for European Jewry, these writings both argue for and exemplify a powerful vision of spiritually rich Jewish learning and its redemptive role in the past and the future of the Jewish people.
The collection opens with the text of a speech in which Heschel laid out with passion his vision for Jewish education. Then it goes on to present his teachings: a set of essays about the rabbis of the Mishnaic period, whose struggles paralleled those of his own time; the biography of the medieval Jewish scholar and leader Don Yitzhak Abravanel; reflections on the power and meaning of repentance, written for the High Holidays in 1936; and a short story on Jewish exile, written for Hanukkah 1937. The collection closes with a set of four recently discovered meditations--on suffering, prayer, spirituality, and God--in which Heschel grapples with the horrors unfolding around him. Taken together, these essays and story fill a significant void in Heschel's bibliography: his Nazi Germany and London exile years. These translations convey the spare elegance of Heschel's prose, and the introduction and detailed notes make the volume accessible to readers of all knowledge levels. As Heschel teaches history, his voice is more than that of a historian: the old becomes new, and the struggles of one era shed light on another. Worth every penny

This blanket is so soft and comforting, I just love it! It arrived sealed in a plastic bag and fluffed up instantly, I briefly put it in the dryer on low and it came out absolutely perfect. There was no odd smell, no loose threads, it was very well made and looks so inviting on my bed! Definitely a great buy that will keep you warm.

A warm hug from this fantastic blanket!

This is my go to blanket when I want to cozy up on the couch. So soft and warm, it’s like snuggling a hug! Washes well and lasts forever years. I replaced mine after 4 years with the same thing in a different color option! Perfect size to cover up and also a nice accent piece on the back of the couch.

In Awe

this is one of my favorite blankets I’ve ever ordered from Amazon! We use it on our couch. The colors are absolutely beautiful and stunning. The best ever made by anyone is the super, soft, faux fur throw/blanket by BEDSURE!

I received my Bedsure super soft Faux Fur twin blanket on 2/3/26. I ordered the black in the twin, 60” x 80” because I love to wrap a throw around me & a regular throw is just not large enough to keep me comfortable. Bedsure bedding or relaxing throws is never a bad choice. I’ve purchased numerous bedding collections & was amazed at the quality of their collections & I will NEVER buy anything BUT BEDSURE bedding. This Bedsure super soft Faux Fur, double sided twin size blanket is absolutely gorgeous & beyond my expectations even though the brand is BEDSURE. The item came nicely packaged & with instructions to just put in the dryer on low to fluff up the blanket which I did & it came out so super soft & elegant. This awesome faux fur blanket is the softest that I’ve ever had. I’m so glad that I read the reviews to help me decide what size to order & the twin size is perfect for me. You can never go wrong with BEDSURE bedding or throws. The Black Faux Fur twin blanket looks elegant on the back of the couch or chair. If I could give this product 10 stars I would. This item was an amazing value for the money. There was no smell to the blanket at all & the quality is fantastic; I’ve never had anything so super soft & is machine washable & can be dried in the dryer. The gorgeous fabric & depth in color is so rich & awesome.
