RSD21

An archaeological discovery! A newly-found copy of the original 1977 Track Records master tape, without 'mud'!

This classic punk album, recorded in London by the New York band featuring two New York Dolls, was always controversial - and not just for the acronym. Upon its release on Track Records in 1977, it was widely condemned for having a 'muddy mix' - later found to be a mastering fault. When Track went bust the following year, manager Leee Black Childers burgled the office and liberated the tapes - he found everything except the master.

Subsequent releases were remixed from the multi-tracks or compiled from outtake mixes - the 'lost '77 mixes' in 1994 being well-received and the version most known ever since. A lift from the vinyl didn't achieve much clarity. Meanwhile, fans found the '77 cassette version didn't have the infamous 'mud', nor did certain European vinyl matrixes.

In 2020 a chance meeting led to Daniel Secunda's archives. He was an old-school music biz pioneer who understood punk, was a Track Records director, and the Heartbreakers’ L.A.M.F. co-producer. In amongst his many tape boxes were two with no artist name, marked 'Copy Master 12.7.77'. They turned out to be a crystal-clear L.A.M.F., just as the band and producers intended it.

Sadly, in August 2020 the Heartbreakers co-lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Walter Lure passed away. He was the last of the Heartbreakers’ L.A.M.F. line-up: Johnny Thunders died in 1991, Jerry Nolan in 1992, and Billy Rath in 2014. Walter's autobiography is published in paperback in May 2021.

For RSD Drops 2021, a limited edition release on purple vinyl with new notes by Simon Wright, plus a poster featuring a Roberta Bayley cover outtake picture.

Good sunscreen
I really like the little bit of glow it gives my face. I’ve used it several times while on the water and it has worked well. I’ve not had any skin irritations.

Like this!
Finish looks great. The light tint makes for a more even distribution. The smell is pleasant. SPF will help protect the face from the sun. I would purchase this again.

Replaced 3 products
This is a very good product. Everyday I use CeraVe lightweight 30 or 50 spf and mix Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi and B-Goldi drops for a tint and shimmer. This is the only “makeup” I wear as I don’t like heavy makeup and prefer just a subtle glow with a daily sunscreen. This product effectively replaces all of those products for me. I put this on to try yesterday afternoon and my husband immediately said “Did you do something different? You look good.” It’s is a little more runny than I expected but applies thinly (as I prefer) and provides just enough tint to cover some of my redness. The glow is beautiful. Love the packaging, the pump is very easy to manage and keep clean. Too soon to know if it will cause breakouts or how well it holds up in the sun (although my other experiences with SunBum have been that it works well). I will update my review if I have breakouts. Buy this! Edited to add: a dermatologist complimented my skin due to this product “your skin looks great, you’re glowing!” I have not had breakouts from using this product. I still use everyday with a little cream blush and mascara and call it good. I stock up when this goes on sale but even when not on sale it is a great price. Still not 100% sure about it’s effectiveness at sun protection although I’m pretty sure it’s better than nothing. Wish this exact product was available in 50 spf. Still a fave!

A tinted sunscreen.
It was really nice. However, it has a strong tint to it and feels like Makeup with sunscreen. Nice, but uninexpected.
