Buck's Late Plum is a Japanese plum variety known for its late-season ripening (typically in August to early September in most growing zones), which makes it valuable for extending the plum harvest season. It produces medium to large fruits with reddish-purple skin and sweet, juicy yellow flesh. It's particularly valued for its late ripening time when most other plum varieties have finished producing. Grows best in full sun and rich, moist well-drained soils.  Black's Late Plum needs a pollinator to set fruit, but has low chill requirements of only 250 hours and good disease resistance.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  High Maintenance. Needs regular watering.  Plums have a lot of pest and disease issues  and may necessary.  Potential issues include scales, borers, mites, aphids, leaf spots and rots.  Fallen fruit can be messy if not harvested.
