Millie's life story is full of fascinating details about growing up in a large, poverty-stricken family, experiencing two world wars and the Great Depression, and suffering the tragic loss of her first husband, Mario, while enduring the early death of her second husband, Angelo-- only to live on independently for another 3+ decades. Despite the tragedy and heartbreak, the book is full of lighter moments, embellished by memorable "Millie-isms," Millie's oftentimes humorous sayings, stories, and observations.
