Ashtray Navigations's To Make A Fool picks up where the nerve-damaged exotica of 2015's A Shimmering Replica left off - acerbic "surf" guitar and synthetic salt-breeze fit for the Tropic of Yorkshire. Instant immersion in a potent, pungent psychedelia that feels equal parts cosmic and aquatic. What Phil Todd wrenches out of his instrument these days is a language unto itself - a helical, grieving howl, a (super)natural efflorescence, beyond earthly description - ur-rock and post-everything. Equal emphasis is given here to pulsating machine rhythms and lush keyboard textures, with contributions by Mel O'Dubhshlaine. There were pre-echoes of all this in the recent Fluctuants (2015) and Aero Infinite (2014), but To Make A Fool feels like the fullest expression of something which was only glimpsed in those earlier works. The side-long "Spray Two" - gently eddying string-pads gradually slashed with fraught piano improvisations - is a masterpiece in it's own right. At it's delirious peak, the whole thing boils over into brooding, arpeggiated noir-techno - Michael Mann's steadicam roaming Leeds's B-roads, some kind of tangerine nightmare - before finally cooling into a bleary starfield of pure and sumptuous hypno-tone. This is a trip, in the most skull-splitting, soul-crinkling sense of the word, but it soothes and heals as well. A circular and transformative journey to the other side of the underneath, and a landmark recording from one of the most adept and visionary nodes in Britain's freak-out underground.

Great gifts for grandkids

We bought eight wearable blanket hoodies for our grandkids that were 12 and younger. Each child got a different color and design that we picked to match their personalities and preferred toy or activities. They were everyone’s favorite Christmas gift (December 2025). A month later I they are still wearing them everywhere because the are fun and comfortable. They use them indoors and out as they are warm enough to replace a jacket or heavy sweat shirt but not too warm for indoor. Did not have any quality issues with any of them. They are designed to be roomy with sleeves that will cover their hands if they want but they have a cuff to keep them off their hands when they want. The two available sizes worked with everyone from 3 years old to 12 years old.

Very very soft & super duper warm

So soft & comfy. I LOVE IT! I had another brand before this one and it wasn’t nearly as soft or as thick as this one. When I’m freezing & everyone else is not it saves the day. I can go outside when it’s cold and not feel like I’m dying from the cold like usual. You will warm up fast BUT I have to come out of it shortly after putting it on. I can’t wear it long term inside unless I turn the heat WAY down

Cozy as a hug and comfortable enough to spend the night in without overheating or suffocating, this wearable blanket is a winner on many fronts. It is attractive and well constructed as I have found other Bedsure products to be. It is heavy enough to help you stay put in your warm cocoon and enjoy your downtime warmly. Gifted 3 for Christmas

Ordered these for 3 people, 3 different colors of these. I did not know what to expect for the price but when they all opened them they LOVED THEM!!!!! The 3 of them instantly put theirs on.
One person slept in hers. ALL loved how SOFT and comfortable they were!! One size fits all works great. The size is large enough with extra room to order this item for some one who is on the extra large size ( 275 lbs) with a completely comfortable amount of room left over to not feel like it’s so small your popping out of it. She loves hers. Also person is 5’7” and it came to their mid kneecap Loved the amount of room.
My 27 year old son sent me a picture today of the one we gave his girlfriend for Christmas
( 5’4” and not more than 125 lbs) and her is the fireworks one…. Super cool design even for a 28 year old or my wife. Late 50’s in age.
Anyway he sends me a picture of him in hers that we gifted her, and he was loving it. He said “ super warm and comfortable and I’m so jealous”. Online are all female models but my family runs on the big side and we live in the NE part of the US, just fyiin case you are thinking maybe it was only for girls/ women) He’s 6’4 and maybe 185 lbs in hers( lol) looked great on him. Plenty of room without looking baggy. Long enough in the arms but not overly so. Came to just above his knees maybe an inch.
So as I’m writing this review I’m ordering 2 more for both my sons age 26& 27 and they were both so bummed they didn’t get one (honestly I didn’t think they would wear it. I suck at picking out gifts but this was a HOME RUN)
And they will be getting one also.
Shipping was awesome. I ordered all 3 on Monday the Monday prior to Christmas Eve. And all came on time for a great holiday. It said would be delivered on Christmas Eve day. I wasn’t going to hold my breath but they all came that day.
