Six Questions Your CMIT Solutions Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise unit financial model using our own research into the managed IT services sector to help you evaluate franchise unit financial performance. Key assumptions like the $525,000 year-one revenue and the 4-year payback period are pre-populated and fully editable to reflect your specific territory. This model uses real-world franchise profitability metrics to guide your investment decision. Data beats intuition every single time.

When will this unit reach profitability?

This unit reaches a positive EBITDA of $9,000 in its first year, scaling significantly to $769,000 by year five as recurring contracts mature. Profitability depends on managing the 8% total franchise fee burden while scaling high-margin fractional CIO consulting revenue. Cash flow is the only metric that pays the rent.

Improving Profitability

  • Upsell bundled compliance packages
  • Optimize technician utilization rates
  • Reduce software COGS percentages
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capital is required?

You need approximately $169,950 in startup capital requirements for the initial build-out and equipment. This covers the $49,950 franchise fee, $35,000 for leasehold improvements, and $25,000 for workstations and servers to get the flagship facility operational. Your initial check is just the beginning of the ramp-up phase.

Major Capital Uses

  • $49,950 Initial Franchise Fee
  • $35,000 Leasehold Improvements
  • $25,000 IT Equipment and Servers
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the return on investment?

The ROI analysis shows an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 4.85% and a Return on Equity (ROE) of 1.39. With a 4-year payback period, the model demonstrates how the recurring revenue model builds long-term equity for the owner through steady contract growth. Time is your most expensive asset during the early years.

Key Investment Metrics

  • 4.85% Internal Rate of Return
  • 4-Year Payback Period
  • 1.39 Return on Equity
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the break-even point?

The unit hits its break-even date in April 2026, just four months after launching services. Reaching this point quickly relies on securing $200,000 in managed service contracts early to cover the $5,700 in monthly overhead plus the professional payroll. Fixed costs are the enemy of early-stage flexibility.

Levers for Speed

  • Pre-sell managed service contracts
  • Minimize initial hardware inventory
  • Use part-time admin support
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the cash runway?

The minimum cash point occurs in December 2027 at $1,023,000, suggesting a significant capital buffer is maintained throughout the ramp-up. However, if revenue forecasting for B2B technology franchises misses targets, you must monitor the timing of the $22,000 vehicle purchase. A cash buffer is your insurance against the unknown.

Cash Flow Protection

  • Delay field technician hires
  • Phase IT equipment purchases
  • Negotiate tiered office rent
[dynamic_pic13]

How do scenarios change outcomes?

Financial planning for new franchise owners must account for volatility in contract signings. A high-performance scenario significantly boosts the $769,000 year-5 EBITDA, while a low-revenue case could extend the 4-year payback period if fixed costs aren't adjusted. Scenarios prepare you for the real world.

Hitting the High Case

  • Increase LinkedIn outreach volume
  • Host monthly educational seminars
  • Secure legal association referrals

Angels and the Fallen — Breathtaking Start
Format: Kindle
This book was EVERYTHING I expected it to be and more. Leave to R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair to give us yet another amazing book! Kieran and her guys hooked me from the very beginning and did not let go. Found family is one of my favorite tropes and it was done so well in this book. Couple that along with an FMC trying to find her place in the world and I was practically drooling over this book. The world building, the conflict, the wyverin sidekick — it all was done so well that it felt fresh and real. Each love interest felt real and unique in their own ways. I felt connected to each one and like they were truly different people. I love that so much in a book and these two authors never miss with their love interests. Multi POV, Reverse harem, who did this to you, and a magical world highlighting the angels and the fallen. This book has everything and it does it so well. Big thank you to R.L. Caulder and M. Sinclair for the arc copy! I cannot wait for book 2!

A new take 🤔
Format: Kindle
I’m not going to go into what this book is about — by now you e already read the synopsis and have an idea — but I will give a couple of insights. Definitely a different take on angels and their fall; I like it. This is an interesting start to a new series - YES, this does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared for that. I’m eager for the next book (and hopefully the last in this series — sometimes the author(s) will switch it up depending on how the story flows for them) in this series. I’m hoping that a certain male character redeems himself because he’s a dick that will make the meaning of mixed signals jealous lol. You ever watch that old movie — I think it’s call Mommy Dearest? — yea, let’s switch that up to daddy. That man would make a perfect husband to mommy dearest. I recommend this book because while these authors are well known for their cliffhangers, they are also well known for putting out good stories.

Liked it
Format: Kindle
I liked the worlds and the characters. The prophesy is confusing in that I would think, since all worlds ore on a path to destruction, the angels would want their world to be saved. I am sure there is more evil that will be revealed as the series proceeds. I dislike a prolonged “poor little me” trope and the main character has moved past that, thankfully, and began to show a fierce attitude as the novel progressed. The last portion of the novel had some great action. It’s worth reading, just be patient with a slow start.

Unexpectedly emotional and packed with action!
Format: Kindle
Why do I suddenly want nothing more than a tiny wyvern to snuggle with?! It’s adorable and I absolutely love all of those moments! Wings of Stars was everything I’ve come expect from this powerful author duo. The fact that it’s written by two different people is completely transparent to the reader and they’ve brought us another world and characters that we’re all emotionally connected to and fully invested in! The injustice that we see from Alfemir in the many forms in which it comes is infuriating and makes me desperate for the conclusion of the story so they can all get what’s coming to them! I love all the guys right now, with one exception, and if you’re read it, you know exactly who I’m talking about. Bastian is hilarious - he was the comedic relief through an otherwise quite serious story. My heart bleeds for him and I can’t wait to see how he progresses through the series. Parts of Wings of Stars were unexpectedly emotional and of course I was left with my jaw on the floor at that cliffhanger! Next, please!

Niz !!!
Format: Kindle
First, let me say that I love both of these authors. I have been hooked by both ever since I discovered their writings, and I follow their social media groups closely. This book did not disappoint. Sure, there are several questions that I have, a couple of times I went huh (which I won't get into because I do not want to offer any spoilers) and I hated the cliff hanger lol, but I cannot lie and say I didn't love the book, because I did. The twist on angels was new and fresh, even though that is part of my questions. The beginning and ending were the better parts, the middle was needed but sorta bogged a little. Kieran was confusing but relatable. Niz is BY FAR the best character of the book, love NIZ. For me, Bastian is a close second, always loved the crazy ones. The other men were good, but Steele gets on my nerves and as of right now, IMO, he doesn't belong, but we will see how that goes. I have lots of questions, but this was an excellent start to a new series and I cannot wait for the next book. Highly recommend
