Now, in the twenty-four hour-a-day darkness that comes with the Alaskan winter, they both see an odd sight: Northern Lights with a mysterious red tint theyÕve never seen before. They take a trip to town the next day, and discover the residents have turned into sleepless drones, zombie-like in their actions. When they meet an old soldier staggering out of the woods, muttering that something has escaped, they know there is something ominous going on. Soon their town is cut off from the outside world and invaded. Worse yet Ð they find that they can no longer go to sleep either.
