Those first few cases of homemade wine inspired the vision for our estate winery, Alexander Valley Vineyards and our flagship wine Cabernet Sauvignon. The western drought continued in 2015 and was once again the topic of much discussion. A cool spring, rain at bloom and hot July along with the continued effects from the lack of rain contributed to lower yields. As a result the grapes had terrific concentration and superb fruit flavors at harvest. After harvest the different lots were de-stemmed, fermented separately, then aged in 25% new American and French oak barrels for 14 months. The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic Alexander Valley wine with medium body, great fruit flavors and smooth, structured tannins. Winemaker Kevin Hall added 11% Merlot for structure, a touch of Cabernet Franc for floral notes and Malbec and Petit Verdot for color. There are aromas of black cherry, cassis, plum, slight blueberry vanilla, oak and chocolate. In the glass there are rich flavors of cherry, cassis, blackberry, spice and chocolate. This is a fruit forward wine with nice balance and a long, juicy finish. Food Pairing: Grilled or pan seared beef, lamb or tuna is a classic. For an unexpected pairing serve with a caramelized onion and blue cheese tart as an appetizer. So helpful!

I was a trustee on my father’s living trust. I wish I had read this before he died.
As a trustee I was so confused and even had to pay his estate attorney to guide me through a few things.
My husband and I have been hesitant to put together our will or trust for that very reason.
After reading this I understand the process so much more. It’s not as confusing as I thought.

Get ahead and learn the basics

I wanted to get ahead and learn the basics before diving deep and involve getting lawyers to help me take care of my family's assets. Just like planning for your life and getting health insurance, another way to secure your future is protecting your assets. This book provided basics of estate planning, understand key definitions, and navigate taxes and legalities. It also provided points to consider in choosing the right lawyer to help me. Bonus on this book is the checklist, I like to track my progress and to dos.

Missing so much!
Format: Kindle
This book did nothing but repeat itself. It's writings from several people as they state in the book and each person said the same thing. The whole book can be summed up in 50 pages (probably less) and is simply an outline. It literally tells you to make sure you update your documents and have your passwords secured and accessible by appropriate people. If that's the level you are looking for then this is a great book, but if you want the nitty-gritty, look elsewhere! They advertise a book that has that info supposedly but I am scared to potentially waste my money on that book since I thought I was getting that with this book, "The only Estate Planning book you'll ever need!"
