The Hazleton area community in Pennsylvania is a good example of such a deprived community whose predicament is further complicated by its being divided up among three separate counties: Luzerne, Carbon, and Schuylkill. However, since this community does not have a county unto itself, it is deprived of all benefits and advantages that come with having a county government solely for that community.

The sovereign state of Pennsylvania has failed to allow any of its deprived communities the opportunity of having their own county government.

Pasco L. Schiavo, in Betrayal and Deliverance of a Community, has stated a case for the creation of a county solely for the Hazleton area community and other communities like it and has drawn up a proposed act supporting his argument, affirming that such communities deserve their own county governments.

About the Author

A lifelong resident of the Hazleton area community, Pasco L. Schiavo has been practicing law since 1962. He is a graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree, and of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he received his Juris Doctor degree. He has been an Assistant District Attorney of Luzerne County, a member of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, a first lieutenant in the United States Army Reserve, and a past president of the Luzerne County Commission on Economic Opportunity. He has also written a number of articles, which have been published in various legal journals.

It has no sound insulation function at all

I purchased this soundproof partition with the expectation of creating an independent and quiet office environment. However, the product does not deliver effective sound insulation. The ambient conversation noise outside the partition measures 50 decibels, and the noise level inside remains unchanged at 50 decibels. Given this lack of performance, I would like to inquire about the actual acoustic value of this partition. This constitutes a clear case of misleading advertising.

Great quality, easy to set up.

I actually have this in my bedroom, replaced a non acoustic panel with it. These make a huge difference. As someone who is always playing music on their speakers I don't want to bother my roommates too much. Easily can hear the difference once these were in place. The panel itself is high quality and thick, what's a really nice detail is how they are attached together, there are multiple wedges just like foam noise dampeners which is super cool! This thing is easy to move around and can be folded for storage with ease. You get extra screws just in case you lose any, the feet are made out of metal which adds to the quality. There was a very slight chemical smell when taking it out the box, however that went away in just a few hours. I can imagine using this in a noisy office, surrounding yourself with these in a cube shape will make all the difference to focus on your work. These panels are great and if you're looking for quality, I'd say you can pick these up without worry. No issues on my end!

Easily Create a Workspace

Such a great design. I am loving the versatility of these - very easy to set up and also to store. THe color is perfect for them to blend into the decor. While they don't cancel out the noise altogether, they reduce it and decrease distractions. No installation needed - has its own supports. Built really well with good materials - sleek and sturdy and solid. They have increased the privacy and have helped make a great space without difficult construction. Work well and they are great value for money - instant privacy and space.
