Emily is a Brighton-based multidisciplinary artist raised in Suffolk, working across knitting, printmaking, and independent publishing. With an MA in Sequential Design & Illustration and a BA in Film, her practice explores memory, care, and community through work bridging textiles and print. Sustainability is central to Emily's approach. She transforms second-hand and scrap fibres into bold knitted pieces with unexpected textures and vivid colour clashes, then translates these artworks into risograph prints. Her work explores contrasts: handmade and digital, softness and strength, humour and vulnerability. Typography and pop culture references create shared entry points, while her love of film informs narrative approaches. Knitting is traditionally associated with functional clothing; by creating non-functional pieces, she invites audiences to engage directly with stitch, texture, and material choice rather than considering potential use. Emily creates politically engaged work that resonates widely. Her riso prints combine the tactile quality of knit with the accessibility of print, offering bold, sustainable art to diverse audiences.
