The fossil measures 80 mm (3. 1 inches) across with matrix, which is very large for this species. The matrix around the exposed shell is the crushed outer whorl of the ammonite, meaning the whole fossil is made up of the shell. It is very well preserved with great detail in the ribbing.

The fossil measures 80 mm (3.1 inches) across with matrix, which is very large for this species. The matrix around the exposed shell is the crushed outer whorl of the ammonite, meaning the whole fossil is made up of the shell. It is very well preserved with great detail in the ribbing. It has a beautiful pyritic metallic shine. It is perfect to the centre on both sides, which is hard to find in these large examples. 

This species is usually much smaller than this, and large examples as high quality as this one are hard to find these days. They are very popular and sought-after ammonites. It weighs 195 grams.

Around 196 million years old, this fossil would make a wonderful addition to any collection.

You need to stack 3 trays for a turkey…

I had to stack 3 of these light weight trays to cook my 11lb turkey. Heavy duty? Prove it. These thickness on these trays are no way close to what I’ve seen real heavy duty trays. The most accurate description on this item that they are disposable. If you are baking cookies then you’ll be fine but if you are cooking hefty meals then this is not the tray you are looking for.
