Made from lasting, recycled plastic, this Bluebird House will withstand use for many seasons without rotting or mildewing. Its lime green sides and front panel add a vivid hint, while darker green tones on the top and base provide contrast. A 1.5" diameter entry hole rests near the top of the front panel, allowing bluebirds access to the home, and the 4.75" wide by 5" deep base offers plenty of nesting area. A drainage hole here helps the nest remain dry, as does the steeply pitched roof. Ventilation gaps beneath the overhang on two sides of the roof prevent nestlings from overheating, for a comfortable shelter, and a ladder beneath the entry helps birds exit the home. The front panel fully removes for nest checks and cleaning, and allows you to access the two, predrilled holes on the back of the piece. Use the included screws through these holes to attach this shelter to a post with ease. For a different option, rest the flat base of the home on a level surface. The clever design of this unit was approved by the North American Bluebird Society, ensuring it will easily meet a bluebird's nesting needs.
