جمال عبد الناصر سکندریہ کے محلے باکوس کی کچی آبادی میں واقع ایک کچے مکان میں 15 جنوری 1918ء میں پیدا ہوئے ان کے والد محکمہ ڈاک میں پوسٹ ماسٹر تھے۔ ابتدائی تعلیم سمندر کے کنارے ایک چھوٹے سے گاؤں الخطاطیبہ میں حاصل کی ہائی سکول کی تعلیم کیلئے قاہرہ میں اپنے چا کے پاس چلے گئے جو حال ہی میں برطانوی قید سے رہا ہوئے تھے۔ ہائی سکول مکمل کرنے کے بعد قانون کی تعلیم کیلئے لاء کالج میں داخل ہوئے یہاں سے رائل ملٹری اکیڈمی چلے گئے اور فوج میں کمیشن حاصل کر لیا۔

23 جولائی 1952ء میں جمال عبد الناصر اور 89 دوسرے فوجی افسران نے پر امن انقلاب کے ذریعے شاہ فاروق کے اقتدار کا خاتمہ کر دیا اور شاہ فاروق کو ملک بدر کرد انجیب کو مصر کا کٹھ پتلی حکمر ان مکرر کیا گیا جس کی ڈوریاں جمال عبدالناصر کے زیر کمان کام کرنے والی گیارہ رکنی کمانڈ کونسل ۔ میں تھیں۔ 1954ء کے اوائل میں جنرل نجیب کو گھر میں نظر بند کر دیا گیا اور حکومت کی باگ دوڑ براہ راست جمال عبدالناصر نے سنھبال لی ۔ جنوری 1956 ء میں انہوں نے مصر کو سوشلسٹ عرب ریاست قرار دیا اور جون کے انتخابات میں مصر کے صدر منتخب ہو گئے ۔

جمال عبدالناصر کی سب سے بڑی کامیابی اپنے طاقتور مخالفین جن میں کیمونسٹ یہودی، مسلم انتہا پسند پرانی سیاسی پارٹیاں مخالف فوجی عناصر ز مین سے محروم کئے گئے جاگیردار اور برطانوی کالونی کے باقیات شامل تھے کی موجودگی میں 18 سال تک اپنے آپ کو بلا شرکت غیرے مصر کا واحد سیاسی رہنما تسلیم کروائے رکھنا ہے۔ اگر چہ اپنی عوامی زندگی میں جمال عبدالناصر ایک انقلابی اور شدت پسند لیڈر کے طور پر نظر آتے ہیں لیکن ذاتی زندگی میں وہ ایک روایت پسند سادہ انسان تھے۔ کوئی بھی دوسرا عرب لیڈر عرب عوام کی ایسی والہانہ محبت اور حمایت حاصل نہیں کر سکا جو جمال عبد الناصر کو اپنے اقتدار کے آخری پندرہ سالوں میں حاصل رہی۔ دو جنگوں میں بری طرح شکست سے دوچار ہونے کے باوجود جو مصر کی مکمل تباہی و بربادی کا باعث بنیں ان کی عوامی مقبولیت میں کوئی کمی نہ آسکی ۔ وہ ہمیں ایک ایسے دیو ملائی حکمران کے طور پر نظر آتے ہیں جس کی مثال مصر کی ہزاروں سالہ تاریخ میں کہیں نہیں ملتی۔ لیکن اپنی تمام تر سحر انگیزی اور خداداد صلاحیتوں کے باوجود وہ اپنے متحدہ عرب دنیا “ کے خواب کو شرمندہ تعبیر نہ کر سکے اور 1970 ء میں اپنی موت سے پہلے سوویت یونین کی عسکری حمایت کی خاطر انہیں مصر کی سیاسی آزادی کی بھی کسی حد تک قربانی دینا پڑی۔

I have been on the hunt to find a more sustainable shampoo. I saw a lot of people recommend this brand and this shampoo specifically. I figured I would give it a shot. The product itself is very watery and you need to shake the box for every use. Also, I learned that in order to have the product work, I would need a lot of product! The packaging also starts to get a bit soggy while in the bathroom overtime. I love the smell of this shampoo and I love that it is working hard to be more sustainable, but this product, unfortunately, doesn't work well and I need to use too much to clean my scalp. I will still be looking for a product that is effective and sustainable. The hunt continues!

Worked well near the equator

I bought this product because I was going to be in the field for a month, outside, every day, all day, in Tanzania at high altitude. A severe sunburn would be hard to treat in the remote area we were in, but also I am very careful about protecting my skin from aging. I had to have mineral based sunscreen because as a whitewater kayaker I know it’s the only truly water resistant kind and it was going to be sweaty. And since I knew I was going to be putting it on every day, and we didn’t have running water in the field (bucket showers only) I didn’t want it to feel gross. (I really wanted to try the spray but I didn’t want to put anything pressurized in my luggage.) And I had already discovered the Coola face sunscreen (30spf version) which had impressed me with how silky smooth and not greasy it is. Now this IS greasier because it is a higher SPF. BUT I think this product is as good as you’re going to get with the protection you’re getting. Like I said, I’m a white water tiger, so I have used a LOT of mineral sunscreens. This was hands down the most comfortable one I’ve used. And it was effective. I didn’t burn once—only time I did burn was when I forgot to put it on one day toward the end of the trip, when we were out for just a couple hours—and I got the first 2nd degree burn I’ve ever had in my life. That was what this stuff had protected me from, all day every day, the entire trip. I did tan a little but I think that was mostly from the few times I was not covered during short bouts or it was cloudy. For my face I used the Coola 50spf face product.

Excellent mineral sunscreen with minimal white cast.

This is one of the healthier sunscreens I’ve found so far. You’re not likely going to find a mineral sunscreen that doesn’t leave some white cast. However, this one rubs in pretty good with minimal cast. You can dab on and rub in fairly easily… as long as you don’t use too much the white cast should be minimal. I am not sure how well this would work on darker skin tones. My arms are a medium skin tone… my legs are more of a light-medium tone. I prefer mineral sunscreens, and this is the best one I found so far and compatible to Supergoop mineral play. If you liked that one, you would likely enjoy this Coola one too.
