Esther Edquist is Melbourne artist Sweet Whirl. She is also one of the best songwriters you have heard in a very long time. How Much Works is her debut album proper, after a handful of releases acclaimed by the likes of Gorilla Vs Bear, The Guardian and Clash Magazine. How Much Works arrives fully formed, a classic ten song album from an artist with both a command of history and a drive for new expression. The album is a beautifully crafted triumph over bleak moments. It's the love-addled confessions of a seasoned party girl, romantic yet sardonic, a troubadour who sings of the heart with a knowing sense of the timeless victory of song. Esther dissects experiences with wit and depth, emerging as a powerful, indomitable voice. Musically and lyrically, How Much Works draws on wells as deep as Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Jean-Paul Sartre and Sheryl Crow. It distils personal, reflexive narratives into something universal and wondrous. Esther plays almost everything on the album, with guitar and therevox from engineer Casey Hartnett (Sui Zhen, Sleep Decade) and drums from Monty Hartnett (Dreamin Wild, Sleep Decade). My New Favorite Socks

These have quickly become mine and my mom's favorite socks. We wear them with tennis shoes, Hey Dudes, and more. The fabric is incredibly soft and comfortable, they do not budge/fall in my shoe, and are extremely well made. I have become so attached to these socks, that I no longer want any other brand.

Will last a good while despite not being overly thick.

I purchased these socks about 14 months ago and I use them regularly with maybe five other pairs of socks made by a different brand. No holes so far. I used to buy Hanes and they barely lasted a week before I had to throw a pair of them out. I still use all six of these socks (assuming I can find them!) I often walk outside on my cement patio or tiptoe through the grass in socks so I am a little tough on them I guess you could say. I'm also very active. I don't exercise at a gym and thus don't use them in tennis shoes but walk most of the day when at home. I run around in my yard doing yard work and gardening. I also have worn them regularly at work while walking around in my steel toed shoes (which rub) and they somehow lived through that. They still look fine: no discoloration or weak spots in the heel which is usually the first sign of wear for me.
They are comfortable too. I don't feel any line at the toes and they don't rub or fit too tight in any way. I love the height of these, they are so short that they slip down in your shoe but not overly tall (I don't like the look and feel of tall socks). They are also lightweight and very breathable.
So great quality for the price. I'd recommend and I will likely buy the same brand in the future.
