The Hollyland NP-F550 Battery is an official factory-spare Lithium-Ion power cell designed for the Mars and Cosmo wireless video transmission series.

Within the Sony L-series battery family, the NP-F550 is the most compact and lightweight option available. It is engineered specifically for camera operators who prioritize a ultra-low-profile setup—such as when rigging a transmitter to a lightweight hand-held stabilizer gimbal, a compact mirrorless camera cage, or a high-action drone platform where every single gram of payload alters performance.

Core Electrical and Build Features

  • Ultra-Lightweight Rigging Design: Weighing significantly less than its larger siblings (the F750 and F970), this slim-profile cell minimizes physical strain on motorized gimbals (like the DJI Ronin or Zhiyun Crane series), ensuring your stabilizer motors do not struggle or lose calibration due to off-axis top-heaviness.

  • Universal L-Series Footprint: Built onto the standard Sony L-series mounting mechanical channel. It interfaces seamlessly with all native Hollyland battery slots while maintaining universal compatibility with on-camera field monitors, small LED accent panels, and standard field chargers.

  • Smart Integrated Core Protection: Manufactured with an internal circuit protection grid that safeguards the lithium chemistry against common field hazards—including over-charging, extreme over-discharging, short-circuits, and sudden voltage surges from unstable charging blocks.

  • Zero Memory-Effect Chemistry: Utilizing premium high-density lithium-ion cells, this battery can be safely topped off or swapped out at any charge percentage level without degrading the overall energy capacity over prolonged production cycles.

System Interoperability

This compact factory battery slides directly into the spring-loaded power docks found on:

  • Hollyland Mars Series: Mars 300 Pro, Mars 400S Pro, Mars 4K, and Mars M1 / M1 Enhanced Monitors

  • Hollyland Cosmo Series: Cosmo C1 SDI/HDMI Wireless Transmission Systems

  • Universal single or multi-slot external L-series battery chargers

Technical Specifications Matrix

  • Official Spare Category: OEM Lithium-Ion Power Systems

  • Ecosystem Compatibility: Hollyland Mars and Cosmo Wireless Systems / Standard L-Series Plates

  • Output Voltage Rating: 7.4 Volts DC at Standard Charge

  • Total Energy Capacity: 2200 milliampere-hours to 2400 milliampere-hours (Approximately 16.3 Watt-hours)

  • Battery Form Profile: Ultra-Slim Form Factor

  • Color Configuration Profile: Production Matte Black

On-Set Power Management Checklist

Because the NP-F550 prioritizes a lightweight design over brute capacity, it offers roughly two to two and a half hours of continuous runtime on a standard Mars 4K or Mars 400S Pro transmitter. When planning a fast-paced shoot day, always map out your battery rotation: keep two cells on a dual-slot fast charger at video village while running a single slim cell on your camera rig. Swap the battery immediately when your transmitter display indicates the final voltage marker is dropping to preserve the chemical lifespan of the power cells.

Ancient Greece: the progenitor for modern day civilization
Format: Kindle
This enthralling text explores Ancient Greece from its Bronze age origins to its capitulation under the Roman Empire. Furthermore, it emphasizes the long-reaching impact this heterogeneous collection of city-states had on political, scientific, mathematical, philosophical, architectural, and military development. All of this was accomplished in spite of constantly shifting intra-regional conflict between Athens, Thrace and Sparta. Outside enemies like the Persian empire only complicated relations further. This sibling rivalry-of-sorts evolved when Alexander the Great's Macedonian empire conquered the Greek world and supplanted itself in the greco-persian conflict. While Macedonia's did embroil the internecine conflicts in the area they hellenized the regions they conquered, including: Persia,Egypt, and parts of India. However, when Alexander the Great died it left a power vacuum exploited by his men, the Romans, and the Ancient Greeks. This ultimately resulted in the Roman Empire. Ancient Greece set the stage for roman empire and while they were an autonomous union of city-states for much of their existence two things united them: their language and religion. These two cultural touchstones united these city-states as brothers, albeit with a love-hate relationship at times. This text explores the archaic, classic, and hellenic periods of Greek history in a fascinating and concise manner. It is a must-read.

Enlightening
Format: Paperback
I discovered a number of interesting things reading this book. I learned for example, that Sparta was indeed a warrior city, with men training to be soldiers from an early age and living in barracks, even when they were married. This and the death rate from fighting led to a low birth rate and their eventual demise. I also discovered that athletes in the original Olympics did indeed compete naked and that making a false start to a race was not a good idea, as people who did that were executed! I also learned that there were Greeks who believed the Earth was round and that it circled the sun, hundreds of years before Copernicus. I also discovered that the various Greek factions, (e.g. Athens, Sparta, Macedonia etc.) seemed to be constantly fighting one another). I knew that Alexander the Great built a massive empire but did not realize the extent of that empire until I read this tome. I also discovered that Aristotle was a student of Plato, who in turn was a student of Socrates Overall, it was a very enlightening read where I gathered all sorts of interesting facts
