The art stresses breath work and being able to separately use and control the internal opening and closing movements of each and every joint on the body. It allows one to fight and counter according to the opponentÕs pressure, rather than fighting from sight. Ghost Hand also incorporates joint locks, throws, and low kicks mostly from the waist down, attacking legs, knees, and feet. There is a lot of qigong work within Ghost Hand forms, making it a true internal/external martial art.
