ACT spring retainers utilize wraparound spring windows and thicker retainer stampings to provide spring support, reduce stress concentrations, and increase strength and reliability. Comparable item dealers provide, but if you can DIY, you’ll save $40-50 bucks installation. Helpful hint, before installing, take a market and put the date and mileage of the end of the filter. Unless you drive a lot, the filters generally last a year.
