Orator Aqua Long Scuba Diver Chronograph Ref. 2501 – Blue Dial, Landeron 248 – 1960s Vintage Diver, 20 ATM – Mint Condition

We are proud to offer this exceptional Orator Aqua Long Scuba Diver Chronograph Ref. 2501, a true vintage diver’s instrument from the golden era of tool watchmaking. Dating from the 1960s and powered by the celebrated Landeron 248 chronograph movement, this rare timepiece showcases an astonishingly preserved deep blue dial, original components throughout, and full diving capability to 200 meters (20 ATM). A superb and hard-to-find chronograph diver that will appeal to both seasoned collectors and connoisseurs of classic Swiss mechanical ingenuity.

Rugged Heritage & Design

Crafted under reference number 2501, the Aqua Long Chronograph stands as a testament to Orator’s commitment to function-driven elegance. The rich midnight blue dial is not only visually striking but historically rare—further enhanced by the original tritium lume, which has beautifully aged into a warm mustard tone, creating an evocative contrast against the dial's cooler palette.

The watch retains its original steel screw-down crown, original domed plexiglass crystal, and original blue bezel with the luminous pip still intact—a collector’s dream in terms of preservation. The 38mm stainless steel case boasts sharp lines and has survived in outstanding condition, a rare feat for true tool watches that were meant to be used.

Condition & Technical Excellence

  • Reference: 2501

  • Dial: Mint original blue dial with no flaws; warm patina to the original tritium indices and hands.

  • Case: Stainless steel case measuring 38mm, unpolished and extremely well-preserved; screw-down caseback ensuring full water resistance up to 20 ATM (200 meters).

  • Bezel: Original blue rotating bezel with luminescent pip—both functional and visually intact.

  • Crystal: Original domed plexi, clean and scratch-free.

  • Crown: Correct original screw-down crown, fully functional.

  • Movement: Landeron 248 hand-wound chronograph movement, working perfectly with crisp pushers and clean reset function. Recently serviced and running strong.

A Rare Diver’s Icon

It is increasingly uncommon to encounter a vintage diver’s chronograph like the Orator Ref. 2501 with this level of originality, especially in such mint condition, complete with all key factory components. The bold dial color, larger case size for the era, and reliable Landeron 248 movement make this a compelling and desirable reference for collectors of vintage tool watches.

This Orator diver belongs in any serious collection of Swiss chronographs or vintage divers and represents a remarkable balance between rarity, condition, and mechanical quality.

The Illustrations are Sweet, Storyline… Great!
Format: Board book
This book is sturdy and has a wonderful message. My grandchildren love it! If you are the one who presents 2 children in a classroom or other setting, most children will really love this book. The durability of the book is great. The illustrations are sweet. The review platform does not allow for me to enter an age span. It does not allow for me to enter multiple ages. It seems to force you to Select one age. I would say that having raised children of my own, I would start reading this book by one years old, but the average child I guess would best benefit with between ages like two and four. The book could be read up to people who are like six years old if they just love a sweet bedtime story.
