The biography of M. Blaine Peterson, a Mormon Democrat from Utah. He served in Congress during the Kennedy administration and secured millions of dollars in federal contracts for Hill Air Force Base and Thiokol for the Minuteman Missile Project. He was also a contemporary of Ted Moss, the last Democratic Senator from Utah, and together they proposed and pushed through Canyonlands National Park, Utah's crown jewel. Blaine's stories are an important part of Utah history. Through his grandfather, a Mormon pioneer from Norway, and his father, a conductor for Southern Pacific Railroad, we get a unique look at the evolution of Ogden and Northern Utah in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Through Blaine, we get a glimpse into city, county, state, and national politics as he served as Weber County Attorney in the 1940s, as Utah State Representative in the 1950s, as US Congressman in the 1960s, and as Utah State Senator in the 1970s. Through Blaine and his wife, Lucile, we get important insights into Mormon culture as Blaine served an LDS mission to Germany in the 1920s and then as a mission president in Germany in the 1970s, and as Lucile served on the general board of the Relief Society in the 1960s. These roles are especially interesting given BlaineÕs political ideologies and his disputes with Ezra Taft Benson, a Mormon apostle and staunch Republican, who told Blaine, ÒNo Democrat can be a good Mormon.Ó Blaine loved his family. He loved Utah and the people he served. He loved being a member of the Mormon Church. And he loved proving people wrong when they didn't have faith in him.

I love the face lotion. The other is sticky and just kinda sits on top of the skin.
