This account of the war in Vietnam is based exclusively on personal experience. It is not a chronological narrative but is written as a series of memories that stand out among many over my 22-month combat tour from March 1969-December 1970. Each chapter stands alone. My goal for this book is to disclose the reality of my life as a combat ÒHueyÓ helicopter pilot and to illustrate how the Òcombat experienceÓ affected me. Overall, my experiences were probably average. I tried to avoid writing a wall-to-wall, shoot-em-up narrative of unrelenting battles and my prominent place in them as a badass pilot and warrior. Ego and poor memory occasionally made this difficult. To be true, I had to write myself out of some of the best stories. War is a formative experience. The permanency of the experience is indisputable and never far from consciousness. Unless you have been there, you will never completely understand the imprint that war makes on a warriorÕs psyche. Flying a helicopter low level over the earth at 120 knots gives the aviator a sense of power, splendor, freedom, mastery, and control. Being just a little closer to the heavens, a little faster and cooler than anyone else in the Army, all contributed to the aviatorÕs self-regard. The infantrymen we fought side by side with viewed Army pilots as their protectors, champions, and liberators. They continually heaped appreciation, gratitude, and admiration on us and made us feel indispensable. We were masters of the sky over the battlefield, gods in our own eyes. Not that any of the god-like aspirations were necessarily warranted, but they served to keep esprit de corps and morale high, motivating Army aviators as young as 19 years old, to get into their machines to fly and fight every day. The title Low Level Gods is a recognition of the hubris and self-regard of aviators, the appreciation of others, and honestly how we felt about ourselves. 28 photos/illustrations. A Merriam Press Vietnam War Memoir.

Love it. Beautiful and good material. Just a little bit too high for my room.

Shipped quickly and as described
It was what I expected as functionality, lightweight and easy to move about. I plan to use it in my enclosed patio to obscure weight bench and wts. My only complaint is that the bamboo cover on one edge is not secure. But I will probably use a magic marker to cover the natural back that is showing. I don’t have time to return it as my event is coming soon.

Good product, needs double hinges for versatility.
Size: 6 Panel, Color: Brown
Blocks out all the light, looks good, good color. Only con is that it is not double hinged so it is hard to position the extra panels because I bout 6 panels instead of the 4 I usually get. Good deal, very decent price with the free delivery. Very clean packaging, came in great shape, no smell or odor from the factory.

Very Pleased with Room Divider
Size: 4 Panel, Color: Brown
This room divider is even better than I expected. It's sturdy but is lightweight enough that I could get the box up a flight of stairs with no problem whatsoever. It folds and unfolds easily and is very easy to move. And there's no assembly required! It really is woven and is quite attractive. The main reason I chose this item was price (although I did like the way it looked) and I got more for my money than I thought I would.

Works well
Size: 4 Panel, Color: Coal Black
i bought this for 3 reasons. 1. Privacy when changing so I don't have to lock dog out of room. 2. In case MIL comes over and wants to snoop. She won't be able to see my bedroom. 3. A nice backdrop to use when taking photos of the clothing I make. This is perfect for me. My only "complaint" is that it is not the most sturdy thing. I have to finagle it in a way that keeps it from falling over. But for the price, it can't be beat!
