The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera is a compact digital cinema camera built around a Super 16mm-sized sensor with a 1920×1080 ProRes and CinemaDNG RAW recording pipeline, targeting controlled post-production workflows. It uses a fixed Micro Four Thirds mount and supports adapted optics designed for Super 16 coverage or cropped MFT lenses. It records internally to SD cards in ProRes 422 (HQ, 422, LT) and 12-bit RAW CinemaDNG, enabling extensive color grading latitude. The camera provides a 13-stop dynamic range design target, with manual exposure control, fixed ISO behavior optimized around dual native sensitivity characteristics, and full control over shutter angle, white balance, and color profiles. The body integrates a fixed 3.5-inch LCD, built-in battery compartment with removable LP-E6 type batteries, and multiple external interfaces including mini HDMI output, 3.5mm audio input, and 3.5mm headphone monitoring. The design emphasizes lightweight handheld operation, minimal internal processing, and direct-to-codec recording for post-production pipelines.
