Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs: In-Depth Product Overview and Technical Guide

The Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs represent a premium solution designed specifically for professional Paintless Dent Repair (PDR) technicians who demand strength, durability, and precision in their dent pulling accessories. These tabs are engineered to deliver maximum performance on a wide range of dent types, especially those that require hard, controlled pulls without sacrificing panel integrity or risking damage to automotive finishes.

Product Construction and Material

At the core of the Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs is the unique blend of materials and design features that set them apart from typical glue pulling tabs. The “Fat Shaft” design refers to the thicker, reinforced shaft section of the tab, which provides superior durability and resistance to bending or breaking. This is critical when technicians face stubborn dents or hard-to-access areas where high pulling force is necessary.

The tabs are made from KECO’s proprietary Ice Material, a specially formulated rigid thermoplastic designed for maximum pull strength and efficient energy transfer. This material is known for its toughness and longevity in the field, meaning that tabs can withstand repeated use without losing their structural integrity. The Ice Material also resists wear, cracking, and degradation from repeated exposure to glue heat and mechanical stress.

Design Features and Engineering

One of the defining design elements of the Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs is the patented slight reverse step molded around the edge of the glue face. This step increases the concentration of pulling force at the center of the tab while maintaining some flexibility at the edges. This means technicians get a focused, powerful pull where it’s needed most, reducing the risk of over-pulling or distorting the panel around the dent.

The hexagonal shape extends beyond the glue face, continuing through the shaft and tab head. This shape provides multiple benefits:

  • Increased Rigidity: The hex shape resists twisting and bending forces better than round tabs, especially under heavy pulls.

  • Enhanced Grip: The flat sides of the hex provide a secure surface for gripping with pliers or pulling tools, reducing slippage and improving control.

  • Prevents Rolling: Flat faces stop tabs from rolling off roofs, hoods, or tool benches, improving workspace organization and saving technicians time searching for lost tabs.

This careful attention to shape and structure makes these tabs ideal for hard-to-pull dents, edge pulls, and creases where maximum force and precision are essential.

Sizes and Included Quantity

The standard set of Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs includes five tabs, all sized at 13mm with the reverse step feature. This size fits well for medium dents and crease repairs, offering a balanced footprint for adequate glue adhesion and pulling force.

Having multiple tabs in the kit allows technicians to swap tabs as needed during a repair session or replace any that wear out. Consistency across tabs ensures predictable performance in every pull.

Use Cases and Applications

Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs excel in a variety of paintless dent repair situations, including but not limited to:

  • Edge and Panel Pulls: Their rigid shaft and hex shape are perfect for dents near panel edges where standard tabs may fail or break.

  • Roof and Hood Repairs: The flat sides prevent tabs from rolling away when working on horizontal surfaces.

  • Crease and Character Line Repairs: The reverse step design allows tabs to adhere deeper into tight creases for precise metal flow.

  • Small to Medium Dent Removal: 13mm size gives enough surface area for solid glue adhesion while remaining manageable in tight areas.

  • Hard-to-Reach Areas: The durability and rigidity allow effective pulling where leverage is limited.

Because these tabs are made from a strong rigid material and engineered for precision, they also help reduce repair times by minimizing the need for repeated pulls or tab replacements. Technicians can trust them to handle challenging dents reliably.

How They Improve Repair Efficiency

The right glue tab can make or break a PDR repair session. Using Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs offers several practical advantages:

  • Reduced Risk of Tab Failure: The fat shaft construction withstands greater forces, meaning fewer broken tabs during heavy pulls.

  • Less Downtime Searching for Tabs: Hex shape keeps tabs in place on flat surfaces.

  • Focused Pull Force: The reverse step face directs force exactly where needed, minimizing panel damage and improving metal flow.

  • Long-Lasting Material: Ice Material’s toughness means tabs last through many repairs, saving money on replacements.

  • Consistent Results: Identical tabs perform the same every time, helping techs maintain high-quality repairs.

Together, these benefits translate to smoother workflows, higher customer satisfaction, and more efficient use of shop time and resources.

Application Tips and Best Practices

To get the most out of Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs, consider these guidelines:

  • Surface Preparation: Clean the dent area thoroughly to ensure optimal glue adhesion.

  • Glue Selection: Use high-quality PDR glue compatible with KECO tabs.

  • Proper Glue Application: Apply glue evenly on the tab face for consistent adhesion.

  • Heat Setting: Follow glue manufacturer instructions for curing time and temperature to maximize bond strength.

  • Pulling Technique: Use steady, controlled force when pulling to avoid over-pulling or damage.

  • Tab Removal: Heat the tab before removal to prevent panel damage.

  • Tab Care: Clean and inspect tabs after use; replace if any cracks or damage appear.

Using these steps along with Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs will improve your repair outcomes and prolong the life of your tools.

Compatibility and Integration with Other Tools

These tabs are designed to be fully compatible with most standard PDR glue pulling systems and slide hammers, including KECO pullers and other popular brands. Their hex shape pairs well with specialized pliers and pullers designed for enhanced grip on hex tabs.

The universal design means you can integrate these tabs seamlessly into your existing toolkit without special adapters or changes to your workflow.

Durability and Longevity

A standout feature of the Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs is their durability. Made with KECO Ice Material, these tabs resist:

  • Cracking under heavy pull forces

  • Wear and deformation from repeated glue and heat exposure

  • Chipping or fracturing during transport or handling

This longevity saves technicians money by reducing the frequency of tab replacements and helps maintain consistent repair quality over time.

Customer Feedback and Industry Reception

Since their release, Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs have received positive feedback from PDR technicians across the industry. Users highlight:

  • Their superior pull strength compared to traditional round or thinner shaft tabs

  • The convenience of the hex shape for preventing rolling and improving grip

  • Consistent glue adhesion and improved metal flow due to the reverse step design

  • Time saved from fewer broken tabs and faster dent repairs

These testimonials reinforce the value and effectiveness of the product in demanding professional environments.

Summary

The Dent Reaper Fat Shaft Hex Tabs are an essential tool for any serious PDR technician. Combining durable Ice Material, a fat shaft for strength, a patented reverse step glue face for force concentration, and a hexagonal design for grip and stability, these tabs provide unmatched pulling power and reliability.

Perfect Printer for My Small Business
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I purchased the Epson ET-15000 for my crafting and apparel business and have been very pleased with its performance. The print quality is excellent, colors are vibrant, and the large ink tanks help save money over time. It handles larger print sizes with ease and has become an essential part of my workspace.

Nice large format printer which is what I needed
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I make stained glass panels and needed a printer that I could make larger copies with. I also wanted one that I could manipulate my images with. This was my best option and I love the Eco-Tank printers. After reading the reviews I made sure to add a couple years of additional warranty for my peace of mind. Finding 13 x 19 paper that was affordable was a tough challenge. I found a bunch on FB marketplace and bought everything they had to offer. This printer was very easy to set-up. I just followed the instructions and then followed what was on my computer screen. At first I thought I would have an issue connecting to Wi-Fi but when it failed on the computer, I was able to go to the printer and do it from the control panel - Easy peesey. I have used it several times since filling, charging, and installing and everything works as it should. My husband has an Eco-Tank printer and I've wanted one since he got his. I love that the ink will last a very long time and that it will be cost efficient. I am not overly interested in photo printing so this was the perfect choice for my needs. The print quality is fairly good when comparing it to my old Canon and e that there are several paper trays and ways to make copies, especially the automatic feed and the larger scanner bed.

document feeder not working on first real use.
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
Serious reliability issues and concerns. We have owned the printer for about 1 month and printed a limited amount. For the first time today I tried scanning with the document feeder. I was scanning about 12 pages that should of been 1 document. The first page scanned and then stopped. I started the scanner again and it scanned about 5 pages and then jammed. The rest of the pages were a constant jamming/not feeding fiasco. I would run to the computer and hit scan, then run to the printer and manually push on the paper as hard as i could without the paper bending. if I pushed just right i could get a few pages through without jamming. I ended up with about 6 pdf's instead of one document and constant jamming in the paper feeder. Frustrating from a brand new printer and the first time using the paper scanner. There is a clicking noise when it scans. a few of the pages fed properly but the rest had to be forced. No obvious obstructions or other issues. I tried cleaning the rollers with no success. Then attempted to reach out to Epson support. The only support option I could find was an email form that put me in a captia loop after entering all the information so I had to start over on the ticket submission. No chat support, no phone number, brand new higher priced printer with serious build/reliability issues. Frustrating.

This is a great printer. I love it.
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I’ve been using the Epson ET‑15000 for custom chip bags and ran into a huge issue with my original paper choice. The printer itself is great, but the Koala 30 lb glossy paper did not play well with the black ink at all. Even after letting my prints sit for a full two days, the black areas would still smear and come off on my fingers as soon as I started folding and assembling the bags. It was super frustrating and made it hard to trust my prints for orders. I decided to try Eshang high gloss paper instead, and the difference has been night and day. With the same Epson ET‑15000 and the same designs, the Eshang paper works like a charm. The black ink dries quickly, doesn’t rub off when handled, and holds up beautifully while I’m folding and sealing my chip bags. Colors look vibrant, the finish is nice and glossy, and I don’t have to worry about smudging anymore. If you’re using an Epson EcoTank like the ET‑15000 and struggling with black ink smearing on Koala glossy, I highly recommend switching to Eshang high gloss. It completely solved the problem for me and made my chip bag printing so much easier and more professional.
