Peru - Gilmer Cordova - Finca Ecologica - Huabal - Gesha
Farm: Finca Ecológica Process: Washed Variety: Gesha Elevation: 1850 MASL Region: Cajamarca
Farm: EcológicaGilmer Mejia operates the beautiful Finca Ecológica Agua Colorada, a farm his father, Filadelpo Cordova Mejia, acquired for growing coffee in 1990. It is a 7-hectare plot, on which 4 hectares grow Caturra and other common varieties. Gilmer is sure to pick all his coffees ripe and by hand, as they mature under the protection of wild shade trees. The farm is managed using organic practices, using compost and guano to fertilize his farm, no herbicides. Gilmer is a young and innovative producer who is committed to and passionate about quality in every way, from the management of his farm to the final taste in the cup. Gesha from this farm placed 6th in the 2017 Cup of Excellence auction.
Process: WashedThe vast majority of coffee in Perú is Washed, and many producers own their own wet-milling equipment, though smallholders may also deliver cherry to a central processing unit or cooperative for processing. The coffees are usually depulped the same day they are harvested and given a 12–18-hour open-air fermentation before being washed clean of mucilage. (The fermentation time may be longer in cooler areas at higher elevations.)
RegionCajamarca is a semi-dry, semi-cold, tropical region in the northeastern highlands of Peru with very fertile soil at high Andean mountain elevations. All of these factors contribute to the potential of specialty coffee production in the area, which is growing. It is known as the main coffee-producing region of Peru, accounting for around 25% of national production. Smallholder producers farm on 2-3 hectares of land, many of whom practice organic farming. Most farmers in the area work independently, but the recent increase in cooperatives has been effective in increasing the quality of coffees produced in the area.

Fast, Accurate, and Fancy - The Ultimate Thermometer Experience!
I recently purchased this thermometer, and I am beyond impressed with its performance, design, and user experience. The key features that set it apart are its speed, accuracy, and the inclusion of a fancy OLED display.
The very first thing I noticed was how fast this thermometer delivers accurate readings. Within mere seconds, I had a precise temperature reading, eliminating the need for any guesswork. I've tested it on multiple occasions, and it consistently provided reliable results.
One aspect that truly stands out is the fancy OLED display. Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but it also enhances the user experience by providing clear and easy-to-read measurements. The display is bright and visible even in low light conditions, making it incredibly convenient for those late-night fever checks.
In summary, this thermometer is a fantastic investment for anyone in need of a fast, accurate, and visually appealing device. Its remarkable speed, precision, and the added touch of a fancy OLED display make it a must-have in any household.

Very handy and capable thermometer for measuring internal temps of cooking meat
Size: 6.5"
A very-fast (and I think accurate) thermometer for tracking internal temps of cooking meat to insure doneness and that your meat is cooked to a safe temp. The sharp point of the probe slides into dense meats with ease. I have found this a very helpful accessory for frying and slow-cooking meats. It's display is VERY easy to read, even outdoors in bright light, or indoors in dimmer light. Haven't had it long enough to comment on battery life, though in two months, and almost daily use, no sign yet of needing a recharge.

High quality, fast reading, easy to use
This is a very nice product. It works as advertised. It appears to be reasonably well made too. I'd give it 5 stars, but I have a few gripes that force me to subtract 1 star:
1) Price. While it appears to be pretty well made and is quite attractive in appearance, it doesn't quite have the feel and heft of a $109 gadget. It is at least twice the price of any other pro-level, instant-read thermometer available on Amazon. Hopefully it will provide years of accurate, durable, reliable use, befitting of its hefty price tag.
2) The screw on the battery compartment cover gave me fits. It took a little more elbow grease than I expected to get it to turn, making me more than a bit concerned that I might strip the screw.
3) The "Careful it's sharp" warning label affixed to the probe itself was practically *glued* on. I had to carefully use a razor blade to get it off, and even then, there was a lot of residual adhesive and bits of the label stuck to the probe--and under my thumbnail too! I had to take out my Goo Gone adhesive remover to clean the probe of the adhesive and leftover bits of label, and also to extract the crap out from under my thumbnail...these are NOT steps I wanted or needed to take to put this thing into service! Jeez!
Anyway, I'll update this review after I get a few months of use out of the Typhur InstaProbe.

Well worth the money
Size: 6.5"
Bad Ass! Finally a meat probe that actually works well and fast, it reads instantly and is so easy to read the screen even in the sun. All the other ones I bought never lasted and this one is tuff as nails and has already out lasted all the other ones combined. This is proof of you get what you pay for! The one thing you gotta watch out for is the probe can read the the heat that rises from the bottom of the grill as you move it towards the meat you wanna check because it reads that quick and that’s not a negative comment, just letting you know! Go get ya one!
