In Tibetan tradition, these offering bowls are typically used in sets of seven, serving two main purposes:
1. Water Offering: Seven bowls represent the seven branches of offering, a common practice in Buddhism.
2. Seven or Eight Offerings: Originating from Indian tradition, these offerings include water for drinking, water for bathing, flowers, incense, light, perfume, and food. Some traditions add music, making it eight offerings.
