PKC delta (Protein Kinase C delta) is a serine/threonine protein kinase belonging to the Protein Kinase C family, and its activation is highly dependent on calcium ions and diacylglycerol (DAG) signaling. Unlike other PKC isoforms, PKC delta plays a dual role in cells, promoting both cell survival and apoptosis, with its specific function depending on cell type, subcellular localization, and activation context. It regulates critical cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, migration, and DNA damage response by participating in multiple signaling pathways (e.g., NF-κB and MAPK pathways).
