Specifically designed for specialty shellac or 78 rpm mono phonographic records, the Audio-Technica Consumer AT-MONO3/SP is a moving-coil turntable cartridge, which offers high-quality sound reproduction and dependable performance. A high-output moving coil cartridge with great production quality and wound with PCOCC (Pure Copper by Ohno Continuous Casting) for signal purity is designed to deliver remarkable fidelity and clarity when playing 78 rpm mono records. With its high output of 1.2 mV, it can be used without additional preamplification or an MC transformer.
The AT-MONO3/SP utilizes a low-mass 2.5 mil conical stylus that is mounted on an aluminum cantilever for excellent tracking performance. The cartridge helps prevent the transmission of unnecessary strain components from distorted or scratched records, while providing a mono audio signal with much higher quality than that generated by a stereo cartridge. The cartridge features a strong, rigid body of die-cast aluminum alloy and synthetic resin to eliminate unnecessary vibrations. The AT-MONO3/SP includes a nonmagnetic screwdriver, mounting hardware, a plastic protector, and a set of PCOCC lead wires.
