The artist has made a change from his usual kaleidoscopic colour palette yet instils his usual level of incredible detail into the three paintings using black and white hues in almost entirely blue toned artworks.

With his limited blue palette, Oxley precisely captures the essence of the big cats in the artworks. The artist creates this feeling of movement, almost like a breeze, in the bold zigzags of the animal’s mane. A new palette streamlined Oxley’s work and allowed him to experiment with a different approach. Oxley’s distinctive drip effect gives the leopard’s spots a liquid look, expressing the fluid movements of this big cats on the canvas.
