Engineered for rugged industrial environments, the B&B INDUSTRIAL RS232 TO RS485 DB9 DINRAIL converter is designed to bridge legacy serial interfaces with modern RS-485 networks and RS-422 compatible setups. This device is purpose-built for automation, control panels, and machine-to-machine networking, delivering reliable serial communication where reliability and uptime matter most. The RS-232 side offers a standard DB9 interface for host devices, while the field side supports RS-422/RS-485 signaling to enable robust multi-drop networks over longer distances and through electrically noisy environments. The unit is compact, DIN rail mountable, and features terminal blocks for straightforward power and data input, simplifying installation and reducing wiring complexity in crowded control cabinets. Built to withstand the rigors of factory floors, it is hardened for temperature extremes and designed with EMC considerations to minimize interference with adjacent equipment. Many models include galvanic isolation to protect critical controllers from ground loops and voltage transients, preserving data integrity and extending the life of connected devices. Regardless of the task—from retrofitting older machinery to integrating distributed sensors and actuators—the converter provides a dependable bridge between serial devices and modern field networks, enabling seamless automation and control across your system.

  • DIN rail mountable design for fast, secure installation in control panels and industrial enclosures.
  • RS-232 to RS-422/RS-485 translation enables reliable serial networking across long distances and through electrical noise.
  • DB9 connector on the host side paired with terminal blocks for power and data input, delivering a clean, integrated wiring solution.
  • Rugged construction with isolation (model dependent) and engineering for temperature extremes, ensuring performance in harsh environments and in EMC-conscious applications.
  • Ideal for automation projects, OEM retrofits, and control-panel wiring where legacy serial devices must communicate with modern distributed networks.

How to Install B&B INDUSTRIAL RS232 TO RS485 DB9 DINRAIL

Installing this RS232 to RS485 converter in a DIN rail system is straightforward for technicians familiar with serial equipment and industrial panel wiring. Follow these general steps to ensure a secure, reliable setup that preserves signal integrity and reduces commissioning time:

  • Power down the control panel and verify that the DIN rail section is clean, properly grounded, and free of obstructions that could impede cabling and ventilation.
  • Mount the converter on a suitable section of the DIN rail inside the enclosure, ensuring it sits firmly and has clear access to cables for routing and future maintenance.
  • Connect the host device to the DB9 RS-232 side using a standard RS-232 cable. Verify pinout and handshake requirements as dictated by the host equipment to ensure proper initialization and data transfer.
  • Wire the field network to the RS-422/RS-485 terminals via the terminal blocks. Observe correct polarity and, if necessary, arrange line termination and biasing per the network topology and number of devices on the bus.
  • Attach the power supply to the power terminal block and provide the appropriate voltage per the model’s specifications. Ensure polarity is correct and that the supply is within the recommended range to prevent damage.
  • Secure all connections, perform a basic communication test (loopback or diagnostic if available), and power up the system to confirm proper operation, data transmission, and error-free communication across the RS-485/RS-422 network.

More of the same
Format: Kindle
I haven’t read X-Men comics in years, but decided to dive back in as a supplement to all the Marvel Cinematic buzz. The plot seems like standard X-Men fare. The weakness of the comic medium, particularly for characters like the X-Men, is the holding pattern of the status quo that the characters are constantly suck in. I’m not sure if this series will deliver a clever twist on it yet. The dynamic they are setting up with the downtrodden Sentinel manufacturing town is interesting, as is the implicit aspiration of the X-Men to replenish the land itself. I am enjoying the team composition and the gorgeous art. They decided to crucify Wolverine again and it looked cool as ever. Juggernaut’s costume, too, is incredibly drawn.

Great new beginning
Format: Kindle
This story hits all the right notes for a 1st issue, with new mysteries and new characters. Love the team, with stalwarts like Beast, Wolverine, and Cyclops. Looking forward to more!

Krakoa is gone, but a new era begins!
Format: Kindle
I was pleased to see this was not a reboot but a continuation in the aftermath of the Fall of the House of X. MacKay certainly started off this new run on the right foot, ending with intrigue and introducing potentially new big bads. Excited to throw my money at Marvel in the months to come.

FROM THE ASHES… ?
Format: Kindle
As a longtime comics enthusiast and certainly a faithful fan of Marvel’s mightiest man, there’s something left to be desired of the 70s into 80s era of X-MEN that marked its genius. Chris Claremont is legendary in his scope and his indelible style that helps make the X-Men something of flesh and bone that jumped off the page. Unfortunately that hasn’t been properly passed, and the torch hasn’t landed in the hands of creatives who can really capture that spirit. It’s hard to recognize any of these characters, or connect with their situation. This group of X-Men and their mission (whatever it is) are uninteresting, uninspired and lacking any authenticity. Interestingly written, the art has some textured, but the story isn’t engaging. I really wanted to like and support this “all-new, all-different” direction, but I can’t. This is not for me.

Revenge for a fallen emperor, redemption for a fallen warrior
Format: Kindle
The crimson empire saga is the story of kir kanos, last of emperor Palpatine's crimson clad imperial guardsmen. It is a story of revenge and redemption, as over the course of the trilogy Kanos grows and changes in ways he'd never have expected. I did especially like his changing relationship with Mirith Sinn, and how her arc is a fitting mirror to his own. I also liked the villain of the first series. Jax, and I wish he had stuck around for the rest of the trilogy. The rest of the villains throughout the trilogy are far less memorable than jax, but I suppose that's the problem when you make sequel to whats unseemly a self contained story. Of the three series contained here, the first series is by far the best. It's quite self contained, and any knowledge of the universe at the time is explained quite well. It's also the simplest, Kanos wants Jax dead, and Jax wants Kanos dead. The second series is abit of a mess, with an overly complicated plot and a good deal of unseemly wasted page count on the random side characters that don't advance anything. In particular I'm thinking of the hutt character, as well as the mystery hooded figure who doesn't actually come into play at any point in the saga. Perhaps he comes into play in some later star wars story, but in this it reeks of a dropped plot line. The third and final series is a worthy sequel to the first although the scenes with Han solo also seem unnecessary. I did like the ending of the saga, even though I would have referred a bit of a more definitive ending in terms of certain character relationships. The art of the saga get progressively better with each series. In the first series it's still reasonable good, but some of the faces and body proportions are bit weak. By the third it's really good if standard comic art. The fight scenes are well done throughout, and the ship battles are a great to see. In conclusion, I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good revenge story. Don't worry about the context of this in the greater star wars saga, the most pertinent information is explained well enough, in my opinion. As long you have seen the star wars movies and remember who the emperor is, your good.
