When I revisited it, I remembered the lines about the sand stretching away, and combining that with the gothic grandeur that is Andrew Eldritch's style, I immediately landed at Percy B. Shelley's famous poem 'Ozymandias'. Look upon my works, ye mighty, and despair! But wow, finding a decent image of the scene described in that sonnet is very difficult. I'm happy with how this landed, though. Then I did a bit more research and learnt that the B-side to this single is a version of 'Dominion' called -- you guessed it -- 'Ozymandias'. So that was gratifying.
