Tanzanite is a beautiful gem found in only 1 location on earth: the Merelani hills of northern Tanzania.  It was first discovered in 1967, and was originally thought to be a sapphire deposit.  Tiffany & Co. quickly became interested in this new gem and made a deal to become its main distributor in 1968.

These gorgeous earrings feature trillion cut tanzanites dangling beneath round brilliant cut diamonds, in 14 karat white gold.

The two (2) trillion cut tanzanites are a very attractive, rich violet hue and weigh exactly 2.42 carats total (1.38 ct. & 1.04 ct.) They measure approximately 7 x 7mm and have been routinely heated to improve their color, as have nearly all tanzanites used in jewelry.

The earrings also contain two (2) round brilliant cut natural diamonds, bezel set at the top of the dangle earrings. They measure approximately 3.80mm in diameter and total exactly 0.40 ct. (0.20 ct. & 0.20 ct.) They grade H color, SI1 clarity.

From top to bottom, the earrings measure 1.5".

The earrings are fastened by butterfly pushbacks, for pierced ears.

Gross weight of the earrings is 2.9 grams.
