Hard Headed Woman marks Margo Price’s fifth studio album and a conscious return to her country roots. Recorded at the legendary RCA Studio A in Nashville with producer Matt Ross-Spang, the album reunites Price with the collaborator behind her first two records. Across twelve tracks, the project features ten original songs co-written by Price, along with two covers: Steven Knudson’s “Love Me Like You Used to Do” and Waylon Jennings’ “Kissing You Goodbye.”

The album finds Price stepping away from the Americana and psychedelic sounds of her previous work and leaning back into a classic country sensibility. Although her longtime band the Price Tags played on the record, Price assembled a new touring band that better reflects the melodic direction of this material. The title Hard Headed Woman was inspired by Price’s resolve to speak out against injustice and the ongoing erosion of women’s rights. As she explains, “Singing these songs, and sometimes being the squeaky wheel saying, ‘This is not right,’ is hard, because people do not like women.”

The lead single, “Don’t Let the Bastards Get You Down,” was released alongside the album’s announcement. Co-written with Jeremy Ivey and Rodney Crowell, and featuring a posthumous credit to Kris Kristofferson, the song was initially written for an unmade film and inspired by Sinéad O’Connor’s infamous 1992 appearance at Madison Square Garden. Its title is also a nod to The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood.

A second single, “Losing Streak,” followed in August and recounts Price’s early years in Nashville. Co-written with Ivey, the track reflects on struggle, substance use, and the search for artistic voice.

To support the album, Price is touring the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States from June through October 2025, backed by her newly formed live band.

Perfect, Perfect, Perfect!
Format: Board book
Up until about 6 months ago our three year old expressed little to no interest in books at all. The first book that captivated him was a book about rockets and since then it's pretty much been multiple books about rockets and trains with just a few others thrown in here and there. Then we found the Pookie books. We first got the Goodnight Pookie book and my son loves it so much that he wants us to read it to him many, many times at bedtime - something he didn't even request with his favorite rocket books! We bought him this one along with several other Boynton books and they are all hits! I'm so glad to see him get into a book that isn't focused on a vehicle or superhero. The books are also so cute! They rhyme and are the perfect length for bedtime.
