A very common request for our Ford F-Series cup holders is mirrored cups to the driver side. And while this sounds like an ideal setup, I promise you we thought of that when designing them. But due to the angle of the transmission shifter, and how close the transfer case shifter is, it creates a less than ideal situation and we opted to put cups on the passenger side of the shifter.

But the time has come, we have designed a bolt on expansion kit that allows one of the larger inserts to be installed on the driver side! Clearance is very tight but it will work. The difference in mounting your cup holder a 1/4 inch from the original holes could mean the difference in shifter contact so beware. We were only able to fit one insert but in combination with our full cup holder this allows 3 cups which should be more than enough for most.

This part lines up under the original cup holder and uses the factory mounting screws, it also comes with some M4 bolts to attach it directly to the cup holder. This will make it much more rigid. This can be installed as a stand alone unit, just keep in mind you will not have the same strength as you would mounting to our cup holder. Only mounting on one side of the shifter without the cup holder will cause the floorboard to slightly deflect, and you will see a little bit of movement in the insert.

Please note: Depending on the transfer case/Engine-trans combo, there are a few trucks that your shifter may contact in 4low or even not even go into 4low. These are usually 92+ trucks, with V8 or diesel options since they have a different t-case. You can usually tell, the shifter will be a fair amount shorter/stubbier than the one in the listing picture. If you still wish to purchase the work around for this is to shift the bracket down about 5” and the top corner hole will then line up with the bottom corner hole. You will need to drill a few holes in the cup holder since the smaller holes will no longer line up. Note that this mod will shift the cup back towards the seat, so if you are shorter, and ride with the seat forward, this may not work for you.
