The grain-textured dial displays a captivating blue-grey tone in daylight, shifting to a darker grey under dim lighting. The case, bracelet, and crystal show only light signs of wear, with no deep scratches or notable flaws. There is a small speck of dust between 4 and 5 o’clock, visible only upon close inspection.

The Caliber 4822 movement includes a distinctive feature: when the crown is pulled out, the second hand jumps to the nearest even index (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12), making precise time-setting very easy.

In 1975, Suwa Seikosha's engineers crafted the Caliber 4822, a compact quartz movement for Seiko's King Quartz line. Powered by a 32.768 kHz tuning-fork crystal and SR44 battery, it drove analog hands via a bidirectional motor and ICs, achieving ±10-15 seconds monthly accuracy. Used in date-only models like the 4822-8000, its 36mm cases housed textured dials. The 4822A variant improved reliability by 1976. It powered watches under 72,000 yen until 1979, fading with King Quartz in 1985 as Twin Quartz models took over.
