The ridges that you see featured are inspired by the actual ridge lines of the Wasatch Mountains, the range that runs adjacent to Salt Lake City, Utah. Each of these mugs is hand thrown and trimmed on the potter's wheel. After a few days of drying, they are carved with mountains, and then put in the kiln. This mug is a labor of love, passion, and patience. The ridges that you see featured are inspired by the actual ridge lines of the Wasatch Mountains, the range that runs adjacent to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Each of these mugs is hand thrown and trimmed on the potter's wheel. After a few days of drying, they are carved with mountains, and then put in the kiln. They are then glazed using a combination of dipping and brushing techniques. The mugs are fired to over 2000°. After they have cooled, a thin layer of gold luster is painted on and they go into the kiln for one final firing.
These mugs are a truly unique piece of mountain decor. No two mugs are alike! They are microwave and dishwasher safe. Note that the actual mug you receive will vary slightly from those pictured. These mugs will hold just shy of 12 oz of your favorite drink!
