Omega-6 fatty acids like those found in Blackmores Evening Primrose Oil are used in the production of leukotrienes and prostaglandins – compounds that are important in the body’s processes for dealing with inflammation and swelling in the skin and other tissues.

Low levels of fatty acids such as GLA have been observed in women who suffer from PMS. Evening primrose oil supplements help to maintain body levels of the prostaglandin PGE1, which in turn supports a healthy menstrual cycle.
