- Obverse: D m TIb CONS-TANT P P AVI, bust of Tiberius II facing, wearing crown with cross and pendilia, and consular robes, mappa in right hand, scepter surmounted by eagle in left; small cross to upper right.
- Reverse: Large M (mark of value); A/N/N/O to left, Ч (date) to right, cross above, KYZA in exergue.
- Tiberius II Constantinus, born Thrace, died Aug. 14, 582, Constantinople. Emperor succeeded in defending the empire against the Persians to the east but suffered reverses in conflicts with the Avars and the Slavs to the north and west.
