Instead, it showcases Barossa Valley Shiraz from a single region, matured solely in French oak.

RWT Barossa Valley Shiraz offers a clear alternative to the multi-regional sourcing and American oak maturation that are typical of Grange. Instead, it showcases Barossa Valley Shiraz from a single region, matured solely in French oak. The name RWT stands for ‘Red Winemaking Trial’, the internal project name when it began in 1995. No longer a trial, RWT Shiraz was officially released in May 2000 with the 1997 vintage.
Its style is rich and generous, in contrast to the more powerful and bold nature of Grange. RWT is made using fruit selected mainly for its aromatic qualities and smooth texture. 15 months in French oak hogsheads (70% new and 30% 1-y.o.).

A firm and binding structure, medium-bodied. Focussed/defined, yet still generous.Mouth-watering acidity clutching opulent fruits renders an impressive pathway cleaved across front/middle/back palate ... a pathway all ably assisted by chalky tannins and absorbed
