Intertwining the seemingly permanent and the perishable, Yi’s work reorders the chemical and cultural forces that privilege containment over leakage, apathy over empathy, and elevate sight above all other senses.Published in conjunction with the exhibition “Anicka Yi: 6,070,430K of Digital Spit” at the MIT List Visual Arts Center, the book includes an exchange between Caroline A. Jones and Yi on scent, ethnicity, and symbiotic microorganisms; an essay by Johanna Burton on networks and extravisual means; and an essay by Alise Upitis on the irreducible ambiguity of Yi’s work. Anicka Yi: 6,070,430K of Digital Spit is the artist’s first monograph.

These are the best thing ever! Put your favorite foot balm on then cover your heels with these socks and go to bed. You’ll wake up with the softest feet and no cracked heels!

Works well if you wear them every day

These heel socks do work, but you need to be consistent and patient. The socks are soft with a gel lining on the inside that basically traps your body heat and moisture—kind of like a mini spa for your feet. My heels felt noticeably softer after just one hour of wearing them.
That said, I don’t love sleeping with socks on, so it took me two nights to get used to them. I even took them off the first night because I couldn’t stand the feeling. After five nights of use with nightly exfoliating, my heels are definitely softer, but still cracked in some areas. I’m hoping they keep improving with continued use.
If you stick with it and exfoliate regularly, these socks definitely help soften rough skin. Not a miracle fix overnight, but a helpful tool for healing cracked heels.
