The Rack PDU 2G is engineered for data centers and professional server rooms where energy visibility, device protection, and uptime are mission-critical. This zero-U, high-capacity power distribution unit provides metered-by-outlet data, giving you real-time insight into the power usage of every connected device. With a 30A capacity at 200/208V and a thoughtful mix of outlets—21 C13 and 3 C19—the PDU supports dense IT deployments, blades, storage, and other equipment while occupying minimal rack space. By delivering per-outlet metering and centralized monitoring, it enables precise capacity planning, smarter workload placement, and proactive alerting to prevent overloads and outages. It’s a reliable backbone for modern data centers that demand granular control, efficiency, and visibility without sacrificing rack real estate.

  • Per-outlet metering for precise energy visibility — Each outlet reports real-time current, voltage, power, and energy consumption, enabling granular power management, cost allocation, and informed asset planning at the device level.
  • Zero-U footprint for maximum rack density — Designed to sit flush in the rack without occupying front-panel space, saving valuable vertical space for servers, switches, and patch panels while keeping power distribution within easy reach.
  • High-capacity 30A at 200/208V — Built to handle demanding IT loads common in data centers, with robust performance for high-density racks and power-hungry devices, while maintaining reliability and protection.
  • 21 x C13 and 3 x C19 outlets — A versatile outlet mix to support a wide range of equipment, from network gear and blades to storage arrays and high-performance components, all mapped for individual metering.
  • Remote monitoring and alerting — Centralized visibility and alarms help IT teams respond quickly to abnormal power usage, potential overloads, or equipment faults, reducing downtime and improving service continuity.

How to install Rack PDU

Installing the Rack PDU 2G is straightforward for professional IT environments. Follow these general steps to ensure a safe, reliable setup that maximizes the PDU’s metering capabilities and uptime benefits:

  • Prepare the rack: Confirm that the rack frame is clean, grounded, and rated for 19-inch mounting. Ensure there is adequate clearance for cable routing and access to the management interface after installation.
  • Power down and verify utility power: Before wiring the PDU, power down affected equipment and confirm the electrical supply is compatible with the 200–208V, 30A rating. Use a properly rated circuit and protective equipment as required by local electrical codes.
  • Mount the PDU: Position the Zero-U unit so that it aligns with the rack rails and provides convenient access to the outlets. Use the included mounting hardware to secure the PDU to the rack without obstructing airflow or cable management zones.
  • Connect the input power: Attach the appropriate input power cord or connector rated for 200–208V and 30A, per your facility’s wiring. Ensure all connections are firm and that the circuit protection (breaker or fuse) matches the PDU’s rating.
  • Route and connect outlets: Plan a clean cabling layout. Label each outlet so it’s clear which devices are served by which C13 or C19 receptacle. Connect servers, switches, storage, and other gear to the individual outlets as needed.
  • Configure metering and alerts: Power up the rack and access the PDU’s management interface. Enable per-outlet metering, set preferred units (e.g., watts, kWh, amps), and configure alert thresholds for overloads, overcurrent conditions, or abnormal energy usage.
  • Test and validate: Validate each outlet’s readings in the management interface. Confirm that monitoring data reflects the actual loads and that alarms trigger correctly when limits are approached or exceeded.
  • Documentation and administration: Keep a current diagram of outlet assignments and monitoring settings. Regularly review energy data to optimize workloads and plan future capacity needs.

Frequently asked questions

  • What does “Metered-by-Outlet” mean? It means every outlet provides its own current and energy measurements, delivering granular visibility into how much power each connected device uses. This enables precise cost tracking, better capacity planning, and targeted energy optimization.
  • What kind of outlets are supported? The PDU includes a mix of 21 C13 and 3 C19 receptacles, suitable for a wide range of IT equipment—from small form-factor servers to higher-power peripherals.
  • What voltage and current does it support? The unit is rated for 200–208V and up to 30A, making it well-suited for data centers and facilities with 200/208V three-phase or single-phase power arrangements.
  • Can I monitor the PDU remotely? Yes. The PDU provides remote monitoring and alerting through its management interface, allowing you to view outlet-level data, set thresholds, and receive notifications without on-site visits.
  • Is this PDU compatible with standard racks? The Rack PDU 2G is designed for standard 19-inch racks and is mounted in a Zero-U footprint to maximize rack space for equipment while maintaining easy access to outlets and management controls.
  • How does the metering data help with energy optimization? Outlet-level data enables IT teams to identify under- or over-provisioned devices, power-hungry servers, and imbalanced workloads, guiding workload placement and potentially saving energy costs and reducing cooling load.

It’s so so but ok
Color: Champagne
The color is good and the hair is not as silky as my car seat or seatbelt covers. Also the hairs really get matted. It may just be from elbows but it gets so matted it is hard to undo. And when you do get it good it happens right again and frankly looks bad and unkempt. Other than that it fits right and is more comfy than original so I leave it on. Even with vacuum at car wash the mats stay so it seems eventually it will be too much. I have had it about a month. Maybe a shorter pile is a better option for armrest, like shearling pile. I’ll try that when this one is too far gone. It wasn’t expensive and is still worth the money to not have a blazing hot armrest so I m good for now.
