Unlock flexible, high-speed networking with the Transition Networks C3231-1040 Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter. This internal module is engineered to bridge copper and fiber networks with precision, delivering seamless 1000Base-T copper connections through RJ-45 and robust 1000Base-X fiber capabilities via SFP slots. Designed for enterprise and data-center environments, the C3231-1040 enables scalable, hardware-accelerated media conversion that preserves performance while simplifying network architectures. With USB management support and dual expansion pathways, this converter is a versatile solution for upgrading legacy copper deployments to fiber-enabled high-speed networks, reducing bottlenecks and extending reach across campus or data-center campuses. Whether expanding uplinks, extending reach to remote sites, or enabling next-gen fiber links, the C3231-1040 is a compact, reliable choice for engineers who demand reliability, flexibility, and straightforward integration.

  • Copper-to-fiber versatility: Converts a 1000Base-T copper connection (RJ-45) to 1000Base-X fiber, delivering dependable, high-speed performance over longer distances and across challenging environments. This media converter supports standard 1000 Mbps Ethernet rates, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of devices and switch architectures while preserving existing cabling investments.
  • Dual SFP fiber options: Features 2 x SFP slots for plug-and-play fiber transceivers, enabling flexible deployment with different fiber types (single-mode or multi-mode) and reach requirements. The modular SFP approach lets you tailor your network by selecting the appropriate transceivers for LX, SX, or other compatible standards, without replacing the core converter.
  • Internal design with expansion potential: An internal chassis-style form factor supports 2.0 x expansion slots, providing room for future upgrades and additional connectivity without clutter. This design is ideal for environments needing scalable mezzanine or chassis-based networking, helping you grow your network without headaches.
  • USB management and firmware updates: Built-in USB connectivity enables straightforward local management, diagnostics, and firmware updates. USB access simplifies configuration tasks and ensures your converter remains current with security and feature enhancements, reducing downtime and maintenance effort.
  • Robust, enterprise-grade reliability: Engineered for continuous operation in demanding networks, the C3231-1040 emphasizes stable performance, low latency, and dependable error correction. Its internal architecture is optimized for dependable encoding/decoding of data into light pulses and back into electrical signals, preserving data integrity across copper-to-fiber conversions and enabling seamless interoperability with existing infrastructure.

how to install Transition Networks C3231-1040

  • Power down the hosting chassis or enclosure before insertion to avoid electrical damage and ensure a safe installation.
  • Insert the C3231-1040 internal module into an appropriate expansion slot or chassis slot that supports Transition Networks media converters, ensuring proper alignment and seating.
  • Install the desired SFP transceivers into the two SFP slots. Choose transceivers that match your fiber type (single-mode or multi-mode) and your required link distance. Confirm compatibility with the existing switch or router.
  • Connect the copper side using a standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable to the device you wish to bridge, such as a switch, router, or server NIC that supports 1000Base-T.
  • Connect the fiber side to your network using the appropriate fiber patch cables and SFP modules. Verify link status and LED indicators on both the converter and the connected devices.
  • Power up the system and use the USB management interface to verify configuration, update firmware if needed, and monitor link integrity. If your deployment requires specific throughput or duplex settings, adjust them via the management interface or the connected switching equipment.
  • Test connectivity by transferring data across the link, confirming stability, latency, and error rates. Document link distance and transceiver types for future maintenance and expansion planning.

The orange and blue ball is perfect. Once start taken because the because the blue noisy one was a little to easy for my dog to start ripping pieces off. Will say most toys do not survive his chewing.

Aggressive chewer who loves fetch approved!!
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
I highly recommend the Chuck-It brand in general, especially for dogs with an aggressive bite. These balls are awesome and are the most durable balls I’ve bought for my 50 lbs lab mix. He has not been able to break one of them yet and we’ve had a few of the squeaky balls for months. They are a bit pricey but worth it. The one in the pic has been used for months, lives outside and you can see it’s still in great shape.

Good quality dog ball for playing fetch
Size: Medium
My dog and family love these chuck it balls to play fetch with our dog. They are durable and fun. They squeak which is added fun for any dog! Regular tennis balls my dog chews apart and they get pretty gross after playing and being left outside. These can be easily washed off and cleaned. These balls last! Would recommend to anyone with a dog and would purchase again.

Our German Sheppard loves these
Size: Medium
These cost a bit more than tennis balls, but they are so much nicer and longer lasting. For starters, they stay cleaner than tennis balls because they’re smooth rubber. Dirt won’t build up on them and if anything does stick, like grass or soil, it falls off once the dog slobber dries. They’re also thick, so they don’t fall apart or blow out like a normal tennis ball does in our dog’s jaws after 30 seconds. Our GS chomps on these like crazy and the only damage they’ve suffered is a crack that developed from the edge of the hole, but the crack is growing very slowly and none of these balls have totally failed yet. The balls do whistle when thrown ant high speed and that may help a dog track and locate it, but I’m not sure. Our neighbors hear the whistling too so it’s far from silent. Lastly the orange ball is easy to locate out in our yard, but the dark blue practically disappears.
