Adolf Hitler my part in his Downfall
'At Victoria station the R.T.O. gave me a travel warrant, a white feather and a picture of Hitler marked "This is your enemy". I searched every compartment, but he wasn't on the train . . .'
In this, the first of Spike Milligan's uproarious recollections of life in the army, our hero takes us from the outbreak of war in 1939 ('it must have been something we said'), through his attempts to avoid enlistment ('time for my appendicitus, I thought') and his gunner training in Bexhill ('There was one drawback. No ammunition') to the landing at Algiers in 1943 ('I closed my eyes and faced the sun. I fell down a hatchway').
Filled with bathos, pathos and gales of ribald laughter, this is a barely sane helping of military goonery and superlative Milliganese.
'The most irreverent, hilarious book about the war that I have ever read' Sunday Express
'Desperately funny, vivid, vulgar' Sunday Times
'Milligan is the Great God to all of us' John Cleese
'The Godfather of Alternative Comedy' Eddie Izzard
'That absolutely glorious way of looking at things differently. A great man' Stephen Fry

Rommel Gunner Who?
'Keep talking, Milligan. I think I can get you out on Mental Grounds.''That's how I got in, sir.''Didn't we all.'
The second volume of Spike Milligan's legendary recollections of life as a gunner in World War Two sees our hero into battle in North Africa - eventually. First, there is important preparation to be done: extensive periods of loitering ('We had been standing by vehicles for an hour and nothing had happened, but it happened frequently'), psychological toughening ('If a man dies when you hang him, keep hanging him until he gets used to it') and living dangerously ('no underwear!'). At last the battle for Tunis is upon them...

Monty His Part in my victory
'It's all over, Von Arnheim has surrendered and he's very angry.''This could mean war...'
The third volume of Spike Milligan's laugh-a-line account of life as a gunner in World War Two resumes on the eve of victory in North Africa. Now Britain's looniest war hero must combat some of the direst threats a soldier has ever faced - boredom ('Christ, I just thought of Catford'), a cold ('In this weather?' 'Yed.'), moving camp ('It's a sort of Brighton with camels'), relaxing on the beach ('Life was golden, and we were the assayers'), moving camp again ('We're already somewhere else'), a visit to Carthage ('It's terrible, it's like Catford') and a perilous encounter with the gloriously endowed Mademoiselle Villion ('"Help! massage," I said weakly'). Against the odds, they survive and are sent at last to Italy to be killed...

Mussolini his part in my Downfall
"A voice is calling across the land, "Bombardier Milligan.""Bombadier Milligan is dead," I replied in a disguised voice. The voice replied, "Then he's going to miss his breakfast."
The fourth volume of Spike Milligan's legendary account of his time in the army during World War Two begins as he and his regiment land in sunny Italy in 1943 ('The ship touched the beach very gently, so gently I suspect it's not insured'). After a bout of Sandfly Fever, from which he soon recovers ('I'm ready to be killed again'), our plucky hero is piddled on by a farm dog ('Mussolini's revenge?') before forging his way inland towards the enemy and the sound of guns ('We're getting near civilisation'), where matters suddenly take a dark turn ('I was not really me any more') ...

Where have all the Bullets Gone?
Back to those haunting days in Italy in 1944, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, with lava running in great red rivulets down the slope towards us, and Jock taking a drag on his cigarette and saying, "I think we've got grounds for a rent rebate."'
The fifth volume of Spike Milligan's unsurpassed account of life as a Bombardier in World War Two sees our hero dispatched from the front line to psychiatric hospital and from there to a rehabilitation camp. Considered loony (and 'unfit to be killed in combat by either side'), he becomes embroiled in his own private battle with melancholy. But it is music, wit and a little help from his friends - including one Gunner Harry Secombe - that help carry him through to his first stage appearances ...

Goodbye Solider
'My namer is Maria Antonoinetta Fontana, but everyone call me Toni.''I'm Spike,' sometimes known as stop thief or hey you.'Yeser, I know.'
The sixth volume of Spike Milligan's off-the-wall account of his part in World War Two sees our hero doing very little soldiering. Because it's 1946. Rather, he is now part of the Bill Hall Trio - a 'Combined Services Entertainment' inflicted on unsuspecting soldiers across Italy and Austria - and is largely preoccupied with the unbearably beautiful ballerina, Ms Toni Fontana ('Arghhhhhhhhh!). But he must enjoy it while he can before he is demobbed and sent home to Catford - so he does ...

Peace Work
'I had not informed my parents of my return, I wanted it to be a lovely surprise; it was, for me, they were away ...'
The seventh and last volume of Spike Milligan's memoirs sees our hero returning from war and Italy ... but to what? Aside from shooting large, inaccurate guns at Germans, all he has done for five long years is blow a trumpet, tell rude jokes and write and perform sketches for the entertainment of bored and murderous soldiers - who on earth is going to pay a civilian to do more of that? From the giddy heights of Hackney Empire to a Zurich Freak Show and beyond, Spike makes his way through the backwaters of showbiz, first as band musician then as one-man wild-act and eventually in the company of a group of like-minded comedians called Harry Secombe, Michael Bentine and Peter Sellers. They decide to call themselves The Goons...

Cigarette smell; didn't work
Size: 4 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
It seems authentic (compared to another brand I had bought) however............the smell is not that great. At first it seemed like coffee smell, but after rubbing into scalp it smelled like smoking/burning cigarettes. It's not horrific but the smell is noticeable. I wouldn't go out in public until after it's washed out of your hair. Hoped that it would help with hair growth but it didn't. The oil just made my hair fall out more.

Appearance, texture, and smell pass the test!
Size: 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I am rating this product on a appearance, texture and smell alone because I have not had time to use it in order to determine it's hair nourishing properties. I have studied a lot about Botana oil because there are so many products out there that have been born out of a few large names putting it out there in the market. It smells exactly like it should which is coffee and a little bit of Ash. I know that sounds strange but it really is not a bad smell. The texture and the color seem to pass the test as well. The color is a yellow brownish color. The texter is more like a butter as opposed to an oil. It puts you in the mind of shea butter. I did take a little bit out of the jar to see how oily it is and of course it's oily but once you melt it in your hands and rub it in it seems to soak in easily. This protect solid while in the jar. 100% Botana oil should never turn liquidy at all unless you have it in a very hot environment of course. I'll come back once I use the product to determine how it nourishes my hair.

Good Product
I love this brand, but haven't been able to find it lately in stores in my area. It's probably the best self tanner I've used overall. Shipping from this seller was pretty quick. Color is believable- even on my pasty pale, next to white skin. If you're like me, you have to be careful of products that turn you orange. With the "dark" shade, you still need more than one application to actually be dark. To me, that's okay because you can control the color. First application gives a nice color, second application gives a deeper tan. However, I may get the ultra dark next time. I love the sprays best because they dry fast, give the best, most even, controllable application and I have better luck with these than lotions. With lotions, you are gooey and sticky and there is more stuff transferring on your clothes. Never wear white anyway when you first apply self-tanner! Best to do it before you go to bed. I really like that it is tinted. Not only do you get an instant, believable color while you wait for the self tanner to do its job, but you can see where it goes so you don't end up with streaks. Because of the tint, place an old towel on the floor as a drop cloth. Wash your hands between applying to body parts to avoid staining your palms. Yeah, the usual Self Tanning 101 stuff. You do end up with a hint of that self-tanner smell and I have used other products that are better as far as this goes, but it's nothing too bad. They all have that smell to some degree or other. Your tan lasts about 4-5 days and is easy to exfoliate off, without flaking off in weird patches. Best of all, this product is cruelty-free and no animal testing!!

A fantastic self tanning product.
I have been using this self tanner for years. So glad Amazon carries it. It's a bit tricky to use and be prepared to use in an area that is protected. Like using a drop cloth and using care with surrounding areas. It also can stain hands and feet so use gloves and cover the bottoms of your feet. The good part after all that is ,a beautiful deep rich tan. I have fooled many using this product. You cannot spray too close or it will run or not go on evenly. It also at times has faulty cans that drip and are messy. Used to that after all this time. The liquid that leaks is green. Now after all that, it does not sound all that appealing but, trying to give some guidance because it is worth the effort. I have heard rumor that it was used on the show Baywatch to give them that true sun kissed bronze look. It literally in one spraying has you tan. You can darken by using every few days. I usually spray it on before bed, let it dry well and wear overnight to let it set up and develop. It has a sort of almond scent so the smell is decent. I will mist my face alone if I just want a bit of color during the colder months before I leave the house . I just mist a bit less and let it dry. Not saying this is the most user friendly product but, will keep working around its faults to keep glowing. Best at home tan as good as a spray tan from a salon.

Beautiful bronze color!
This is a nice spray mist tan that gradually gets deeper in color within a couple hours after application. It did not make me look orange at all rather a great beach bronze color. It’s a bit difficult to spray my legs evenly all around while staying within the range/ distance it recommends in order to avoid lines, drilling and streaks. Next time I’m asking my friend to spray me. The spray mist on skin will stay on for 3 days before it begins to wear offs. I suggest exfoliating in between spray tanning
