After months of engineering and development, cp-e® is proud to release the ΔCore Front Mount Intercooler for the 3.5L & 2.7L EcoBoost. The stock intercooler does an excellent job for the everyday driver that doesn’t want to modify their car. However, once you find that itch to go faster, the intercooler is a must have modification.

FMIC Features

  • 20.00" x 9.50" x 7.00" Core Size
  • Low Turbulence End Tank Design
  • Minimal Pressure Drop
  • Maximized Core Design
  • Substantially Lower & More Consistent Charge Temps
  • Bolt-in Design, No Vehicle Modification Needed
  • Fully Cast End-Tanks
  • CNC cut and bent brackets

EcoBoost FMIC Design

cp-e® started off by determining the maximum size core that could fit without major modification to the vehicle. After removing the active grill shutters, and squeezing big hands in tight spaces, cp-e® developed the largest core available to the market, a 20” x 9.5” x 7” monster! This core uses the bar and plate design to help ensure a high level of efficiency.

cp-e® then set their sights on the endtanks, developing a design that not only encloses the monstrous core, but also requires no cutting, no drilling, and no permanent modification to the vehicle. With the laser cut brackets, the intercooler will mount in the stock location while matching up to the stock intercooler piping. Customers can now upgrade their piping when their power demands need it and modify in smaller increments.

EcoBoost FMIC Endtanks

As always, the cp-e® intercooler includes cast endtanks that are welded and pressure tested with the core. What sets these endtanks from the rest is the engineering behind their shape and internal design. Hours of design and computer flow diagrams have been put into the tanks’ design to virtually eliminate turbulence within them. Many times, upgrading an intercooler causes increased turbo-lag, and an overall pressure loss. This is because of the large size of the core and the turbulence within the endtanks. By designing the endtanks to be smaller, and more efficient cp-e® has found a way to minimalize turbulence in order to keep the drivability of the car high, while still enlarging the intercooler drastically.

The internal design of the endtanks directs the air to bring the most optimal airflow as well as an even distribution throughout the core. In intercoolers, the back half of the core only does 25% of the cooling. The endtanks have been designed to direct the air properly into the core for the most even cooling, giving the vehicle the most consistent conditions going into the engine.

EcoBoost FMIC Highlights

Fully Optimized Core Size

In order to build one of the most efficient intercooler designs possible, cp-e® set out to make the largest core available. To accomplish this, we've maximized every single square inch of usable space behind the bumper. This is evident in the core design with recesses for a perfect fit, yet largest size physically possible without permanent modification to the vehicle.

Fully Cast Endtanks

When durability and high horsepower are the main goals, nothing beats casting. Cut and weld sections just don’t have close to the reliability of a cast piece. The problem is that casting is too expensive and out of reach for many manufacturers.

With the ultimate product as our end goal, we only accept fully cast end tanks for all of our front mount intercoolers.

Turbulence Reduction Fins

When creating an intercooler, the goal is to maximize size, while not increasing pressure drop. Larger cores almost always exhibit some form of pressure drop, due to the massive turbulence in a large core. cp-e® has engineered a way around this by adding our carefully calculated turbulence reduction fins to smooth out the airflow from the end tanks to the main core.

In the real world this translates to extraordinarily low pressure drop and no loss in spool times.

Not as advertised, but I like it! This run runs small and not the blend stated.
Size: 4X-Large, Color: Sky Blue
I rely on your reviews a lot, so I am paying it forward here. I needed a summery, lightweight linen type shirt with long sleeves because I'm an old, fat guy and I'm getting those ugly, purple bruises on my arms (if you're under 65, just wait ;). I just got my shirt today. I read the reviews and everybody said the quality, sizing and the material were all over the board and mine is no different. The label on mine says 60% cotton, 30% viscose and 10% linen. That's a far cry from the 70% Rayon and 30% Linen as stated. However, this material is very light and smooth and has a lot of stretch. The label can't be correct for the material to have this much stretch, but I like it. It doesn't look anything like the picture either. It has a sort of linen like look, but more of a chambray weave look I would say. And it smells oddly nice, too. I'm sure whatever the smell is will go away after washing, but for now, it's a nice, pleasant, new shirt smell. Must be the Viscose or whatever is in this shirt. It definitely has at least 2% Lycra to be able to stretch like this. Also, the sizing is way off. For reference, I am 5'6" and 270 with a 52" waist (I told you, old, short and fat :). Many of the reviewers said it ran small, so I ordered up to a 4x and it fits just about perfectly for me. I normally wear a 3x and in some shirts that's too big. This is loose enough but not blousey and most importantly, covers my big belly nicely. The stretch in the fabric is a bonus. So I guessed right with the 4x. However, read the reviews and you will see that the sizing appears to be all over the board. Finally, the pocket is oddly small. It is fine for my purposes and I absolutely need a pocket to put my sunglasses in and other various little things, but at least in my version, beware that the pocket is oddly small. I think I got lucky with my order and got what I wanted by default. I will have to be careful washing it, or it might shrink too much (there's no telling what this fabric really is). It is also fairly wrinkled out of the package, but being the cotton/viscose blend that it says it is, it should iron out nicely and not wrinkle with wearing. We shall see. I'm impressed with the silky feeling and light weight of this shirt and although it doesn't really look like a linen shirt, it looks casual enough for me to fit the bill. I will be wearing it with the sleeves rolled up anyway, as I just needed something that looks casually sharp and can cover the ugly bruises on my forearms. As you can tell if you read through the reviews, what you might get seems to be somewhat of a crap shoot, but I like mine, so good luck!

It’s nice
Size: X-Large, Color: Sky Blue
This men’s long sleeve linen shirt is lightweight and breathable, which makes it comfortable for warmer weather. The fit is okay, but it doesn’t hold its shape very well and wrinkles easily, which can make it look a bit sloppy. The material feels a little thin, and while it’s casual and easy to wear, it doesn’t have the high-quality feel I was hoping for. Overall, it’s fine for relaxed occasions, but not a standout piece.

Sizes are not standard and color is not accurate per the photos
It did not fit well. The size is not true to the standard and runs larher. Also the color is more burgundy online but the actual fabric is more like a bright tomato red.. color mismatch was the biggest disappointment.
