Background
Lymphocyte cytosolic protein 2 (LCP2), also commonly known as SLP-76, is a crucial adaptor protein expressed in hematopoietic cells, including T cells, B cells, macrophages, and platelets. It plays a central role in coupling activated immunoreceptors, such as the T-cell receptor (TCR), to multiple downstream signaling pathways. Upon phosphorylation, LCP2 nucleates a large signaling complex that regulates critical cellular processes including proliferation, differentiation, adhesion, and cytokine production. It is essential for proper immune cell development and function. Deficiencies in LCP2 signaling are linked to immunodeficiencies and platelet abnormalities, highlighting its fundamental importance in immunity and hemostasis.
