This is very time consuming, and you almost never get the same sound from your speaker since it is virtually impossible to assemble the components exactly the same as it is done originally. With Peavey's speaker replacement baskets, they've already done all of the assembly for you, so all you have to do is remove the magnet from the old speaker and install it on the new basket assembly!
