By:First published in 1963, this unique and pioneering anthology has been continuously used as an invaluable text in Russian studies. Containing over sixty selections from the finest of Russia’s medieval authors, much of the material published in this anthology has never before been available in English. Medieval Russian Epics, Chronicles, and Tales is a vital resource for readers interested in learning more about the writings that influenced Pushkin, Gogol, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, and Chekhov.
Editor Serge A. Zenkovsky completely revised the text and enlarged the book, adding almost one hundred pages of new material, including:
· Sviatoslav’s Early Campaigns
· The Siege of Kiev and Olga’s Death
· Vladimir Monomakh: Instruction to His Children
· Tale of the Life and Courage of the Pious and Great Prince Alexander
· Narrative of the Pious Prince Dovmont and His Courage
· The Writing of Daniil the Prisoner
· Orison on the Life and Death of Grand Prince Dmitry Ivanovich
· Afanasy Nikitin’s Journey Across Three Seas
· Ivan Funikov: Message of a Nobleman to a Nobleman
· Epic of Sukhan
· Simeon Polotsky: Excerpt from Ode on the Birth of Peter I
· Simeon Polotsky: The Law
· Simeon Polotsky: The Merchant Class
· Tsar Alexis Mikhailovich: The Rules of Falconry
In addition to a comprehensive introduction, the editor has prefaced each selection with detailed information about its literary and historical background, and has included a glossary and brief chronology of Russian history and culture.

Okay
I like that it fits my umbrella well, hinges open for easy application and removal, and that it has enough light for us to see our food at night.
I do not like that half of the outer lights do not work part of the time until I take out the batteries and swap them around.
Fine enough for the price, not worth the hassle of returning.

Easy to use.
Works well. Light is bright. Our new patio umbrella does not have e a center pole, so the lights get somewhat blocked. But still pretty useful.

Sturdy & easy to move around
Its solid & sturdy. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. You have the option to fill it up with water or sand , I choose water. It holds the umbrella in place. The wheels and handle make it really easy to move around, which is a huge plus. It fits perfectly and feels very well made. Great addition for my pool area!

Heavy-Duty Base with Convenient Mobility
This umbrella base does exactly what it’s supposed to—keeps the umbrella stable while still being easy to move around when needed. Once filled with water/sand, it feels solid and secure even on slightly windy days, which gives peace of mind.
The built-in wheels are a standout feature. Moving the base across the patio is smooth and doesn’t require much effort. The handle placement is well thought out, making repositioning quick and hassle-free.
Overall, it’s a great balance of stability and convenience. Highly recommend if you want a sturdy base without sacrificing mobility.
