On Ravello Records, London composer and saxophonist Sophya Polevaya offers ELECTRIC SCENT, a series of 19 instrumental meditations on the mythic power of flowers and perfumery. Polevaya's mastery of both composition and performance shines from the outset of ELECTRIC SCENT. Polevaya performs on more than a half dozen instruments throughout, including saxophone, cello, and harpsichord, yet her music is anything but traditional. Rather, she liberates these instruments from some of the frowsty confines of the Western canon and pushes them to their physical limits. The album opens with the throaty drone of a cello announcing a singular tone as harpsichord, saxophones, and a collection of found objects flutter and spark around it. In one fleeting miniature after another, Polevaya explores the tension between piercing tones and rasping cries, inviting the listener to consider more deeply every instrument's distinctive timbre and the additional sonic layers created by effect pedals and loop stations. Each track jolts the listener into new appreciation, from the spritely, arrhythmic saxophone line of Tiger Lily to the surreal, electroacoustic manipulation of "Chypre." Like a perfumer concocting rich, mystifying aromas from potent botanical fragrances, Polevaya stirs together an extraordinary collection of sensory delights in ELECTRIC SCENT. The album is a not-to-be-missed work, speaking directly to the compelling artistic prowess of Polevaya.

A summer cooling mat full of endless possibilities! Kitty 🐈⬛ imagination highly required! It’s apparently somewhat better than a large empty Amazon box! Beau highly recommends it!

I purchased the medium sized cooling mat for my chunkster grey tux Beau who at first snoop, didn’t like it. After carefully flopping him on top of it and made stupid sounds, he inevitably decided to actually try it his way thus (while not a box) liked it. I was surprised that after two weeks the mat was still cool and scratch-free from his murder mittens. While he does flop on the mat from time to time, he enjoys dragging it, flipping it in a viscous cycle of who-knows what the heck is going on his mind! Either way, if I could give it 9/10 stars I would as the instructions fails to inform user of a highly kitty imagination is required. No worries tho! Beau figured this out two days into flopping on top of it.

Does not stay cool
I bought this for my bunny and the material itself does feel cool at first. My bunny wast laying on it for about 30- 40 minutes and it feels warm to the touch. So while it does feel cool initially, if your pet is warm the pad will get warm as well. I'd recommend leaving the fan on for your pet in addition to the pad or placing a frozen water bottle on the pad so it keeps the pad cool a little longer.

Best cooling purchase for my indoor cat

I have a Maine coon and he runs very hot. I don’t have much tile in my house so I bought him this, and added it to his bed. He hasn’t left his bed since I put it in there a few hours ago. He would never be in his bed longer than 20 minutes, let alone lay in it all the way. Such a successful buy for what we needed.
