Strong floral notes of rose, jasmine, and sage make a this a wild blend. On the tongue, it's a bright splash of sour cherries, raspberry, and cranberry. It’s dry through and through with a medium to light body. Light tannins too and incredibly smooth-flowing.

This red is funky and fun, and is a nice entry to natural wines. Don't be pressured to finish the 1 liter bottle, as this is a developing wine-- meaning, its character changes through the days. Day 1 or 3, it's delicious, and is absolutely a smashing company on a hot summer day.

Quality Time: Serve lightly chilled. In your safe space with people you love. This light-bodied wine would pair well with almost anything, but we reckon a Pastrami sandwich and thick-cut fries would be great pals with this red.

Varietal: Blauer Portugieser, Cabernet Mitos, Dornfelder, Merlot, Regent, Pinot Noir, St. Laurent

Region: Wonegau, Rheinhessen, Germany

Viticulture: Organic. Biodynamic. Handpicked grapes. Farmed on clay, limestone, and sandstone soil.

Winemaking: Stored in 4400 liter wooden barrels on the full lees. Bottled without filtration and without adding sulfur.

About the Winemaker

Bianka and Daniel Schmitt are not just winemakers but pioneers in the new wave of German wines. The young, passionate couple, who helm a two-century-old estate in Rheinhessen, are dedicated to producing grand wines that are as natural as possible. They manage 16 hectares of Demeter-certified biodynamic vineyards from which they craft wines full of life and freshness. Their 'Natur' range is a testament to their commitment to low-intervention winemaking, with zero added sulfur, and all their wines are unfiltered, unfined, and reflect their personality and creativity. Their approach to winemaking, learned from renowned Alsace vigneron Patrick Meyer, demonstrates their dedication to harmony with nature and offers a remarkable range of flavors, from light to complex and serious, even including some exciting ciders for a playful twist.
