The APC by Schneider Electric Galaxy VS 80kVA Tower UPS delivers enterprise-class, modular power protection tailored for edge deployments, small to mid-size data centers, and other business-critical applications. This 3‑phase UPS is engineered to combine high efficiency with scalable redundancy, enabling you to protect sensitive IT loads while minimizing space, energy consumption, and total cost of ownership. With support for multiple input and output voltages (including 208 V, 400 V, and 480 V configurations), Galaxy VS provides a flexible, future-proof foundation for your evolving IT footprint. The 80kVA tier sits within a family designed for modular growth—you can start with a compact configuration and incrementally add power modules and battery banks as demand increases, all without interrupting critical workloads. Built for reliability, uptime is reinforced by hot-swappable power and battery modules, robust fault containment, and intelligent diagnostics that anticipate issues before they impact operations. In short, Galaxy VS is a scalable, easy-to-deploy, highly efficient solution that protects business continuity in today’s fast-moving IT environments.

  • Modular, scalable architecture: Galaxy VS brings a modular design that supports incremental expansion to reach the 80 kVA capacity (roughly 64 kW) as your load grows. Hot-swappable power modules and battery strings enable quick maintenance and minimal downtime, so you can expand protection without replacing the entire system. This modularity also simplifies spare-part inventory and on-site service, reducing both capital and operating expenditures over the life of the UPS.
  • High efficiency and impeccable power quality: Engineered for online, double-conversion operation, Galaxy VS maintains precise voltage regulation and low total harmonic distortion to safeguard sensitive IT equipment. The efficient power conversion reduces cooling and energy costs, while advanced waveform shaping and input power factor correction minimize disturbances from utility swings, ensuring clean, reliable power to servers, storage, and networking gear.
  • Flexible deployment with a compact footprint: The tower form factor is designed for space-constrained data centers, edge facilities, and colocation environments where floor space and cooling capacity are at a premium. Its modular tower design supports streamlined rack or free-space installations, enabling engineers to optimize layout and airflow while still delivering scalable protection as workloads scale.
  • Comprehensive protection and serviceability: Galaxy VS includes robust protection features such as short-circuit isolation, overload handling, surge suppression, and battery health monitoring. Predictive diagnostics and remote monitoring provide proactive insight, allowing IT teams to plan maintenance before failures occur. The hot-swappable components—both power modules and battery packs—maximize uptime and simplify servicing without disconnecting loads.
  • Intelligent management and IT-ready connectivity: Designed for modern data-center operations, Galaxy VS is EcoStruxure IT Ready and integrates with APC monitoring solutions for centralized visibility. Real-time metrics on load, efficiency, battery health, and ambient conditions can be accessed locally or remotely via secure interfaces, enabling proactive capacity planning, rapid incident response, and streamlined change management.

How to install APC Galaxy VS 80kVA Tower UPS

Installing the Galaxy VS 80kVA Tower UPS should be performed by qualified electrical professionals in accordance with local electrical codes. The following steps outline a high-level, installer-focused process to help you plan and execute a successful deployment:

  • Plan the site: Choose a location with a solid floor, adequate clearance for maintenance, and appropriate ventilation. Ensure room temperature and humidity are within the UPS’s specified operating range. Verify access to space for battery modules and service personnel, and confirm that the electrical distribution system can accommodate 208/400/480 V three-phase input with proper grounding.
  • Unpack and inspect: Inspect all components for transit damage, verify that the module kit includes the expected power modules, batteries, cables, and accessories, and confirm compatibility with your IT load profile and UPS configuration.
  • Mount and orient the unit: Position the tower UPS in the chosen location, ensuring clear clearance for intake and exhaust airflow. If using a floor-mounted stand or rack-adjacent setup, secure the unit according to manufacturer guidelines and local safety requirements.
  • Connect inputs and outputs: Wire the three-phase input cables to the UPS input terminals according to the wiring diagram. Connect the UPS output to the IT equipment or distribution panel, ensuring correct phase sequencing and grounding. Install protective devices as required by code and ensure that all connections are tightened to specification.
  • Install batteries and modules: Attach hot-swappable battery modules and power modules as specified, following the provided sequence to ensure correct electrical integrity and safe operation. Verify that battery strings are balanced and that battery monitoring is enabled in the management software.
  • Configure management and monitoring: Connect the UPS to the network or local management interface. Configure input/output settings, runtime targets, protection thresholds, and remote monitoring credentials. Run initial health checks and firmware updates if available, and confirm that alerting and reporting are functioning properly.
  • Commission and test: Perform a formal commissioning test, including a self-test, simulated outage, and transfer to inverter mode to validate runtime and load handling. Validate that all alarms, event logs, and notifications are functioning and that the IT loads remain protected during fault scenarios.
  • Document and maintain: Record the installation details, configuration parameters, and maintenance schedule. Establish a preventive maintenance routine to monitor battery health, component wear, and firmware versions, ensuring long-term reliability and uptime.

Better than many expensive options
Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1), Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I am shocked at how good this mineral sunscreen is. I am a mineral sunscreen junkie and have so many expensive ($50+ a bottle) high end versions. I have fair/light combo skin and hate greasy, pasty sunscreen. This mineral sunscreen rubs in quickly and isn’t greasy. It out performs MANY high end sunscreens. I love that it has 19% zinc (substantial compared to some others) and is waterproof 80 mins. One thing I found interesting (and awesome) is that iron oxide is listed (last) in the ingredients, which means it has a *very* slight tint. Iron oxide is shown to help block visible/blue light which can be important to people like me with discoloration. This sunscreen is pretty robust for a “basic” drugstore brand. The color is more of a (very pale yellow almost?) off white, not stark white, I think due to the iron oxide listed. I wouldn’t call it tinted, but at least it’s better than paper white sunscreen. In comparison to other thick, heavy, greasy stark white mineral sunscreens, this one is a breeze to rub in! I cannot find anywhere if this sunscreen is nano or non nano, so that’s something to take into consideration if you care, which I really do not. If nano sunscreen is a big concern of yours I would reach out to banana boat to confirm. I purchased this so I don’t have to use my expensive face mineral sunscreens on my body but shockingly this may end up being my new favorite mineral face sunscreen. It isn’t drying on me personally (combo skin leaning oily) and it also wore fine under makeup. The finish is a soft satin after dried down. I’m pretty blown away! It preformed perfect at the pool, even in humidity. I will most likely repurchase. I’m glad to not have to repurchase the more expensive MDSolar science mineral sunscreen I was previously using on my body. I purchased with my own money no paid review! 10 out of 10 for the value and performance from me!!!

Good but left white cast on my skin
Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Overall, I bought this because of the zinc oxide; it is very easy to use, no strong odor, non-sticky. However, it still left white cast on my face. (The intensity of the white cast is still lower compared to other more expensive brand.)

Non greasy, not much white cast compared to other mineral sunscreens
Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
The only one my 13 yr old will tolerate. Its the least greasy feeling of any mineral sunscreen we've tried. At 19% zinc oxide, I'm happy. Its also the least "white" cast of any we've tried. My Fitzpatrick III daughter is happy about that
